Chapter 1- Who are you?

"Basil, sweetheart, come on, it's the last day of school~.WAKE UP!" if you haven't noticed that's my caretaker or in other words my neighbor Jodi Coleman, I live with the Coleman's after an incident that happened.

"Okay I'm up! No need to yell" I said. "Come on, get ready, get dressed already Jean and Chris are waiting. And you know that they hate waiting on you." Jodi said in her smug and sweet toned voice. "BASIL HURRY UP!" yelled Jean Coleman and Chris Cannon. "AHH" I yelped.

"Get out Jodi, I'll be done quicker if you get out!" I said trying not to be rude. "Okay, okay I'll get out, just ask me if you need anything Basil okay?" She said with care. "Okay." I said knowing by what she meant.

I looked down at the floor. Next thing I knew the door opened and then closed meaning Jodi left. Oh well time to get ready. I put on my light purple t-shirt and my ripped shorty-shorts. I grabbed my school-bag and then ran out of my room, down the stairs and ran right into Jean.

"There you are, I was about to come get ya myself. Well come on or we'll be late!" Jean said enthusiastically which surprised us all. "Wow! This is the first time that you're excited for school!" I said genuinely confused and surprised.

"Of course I am, first off it's the last day of school. Second there's a new kid coming to school today!" she said ecstatic. "Wow. There's a new kid at the end of the year. I thought schools didn't allow that anymore." Jodi said in pure confusion.

"Umm but aren't we already late." I said pointing out the time. "Uh oh, to the car!" Jodi said while pulling us all out of the house.

While outside we saw a moving truck, moving in next door. "No time to look at the new neighbors kids get in the car. Time for your last day of school!" Jodi said excited for our summer. While in the the car Jodi sped on so we wouldn't be late.

"Go, hurry! Don't be late to your last day in Junior High! Go get to class!" Jodi said wanting the three of us out of the car. "Bye Jodi." I said excited for the summer. "Bye mom." Jean said excited as well. "Bye Mrs.Coleman." Chris said wanting the school year to end. "Bye kids, now get out of my car." Jodi said hurriedly.

We ran in not wanting to be late. And to our surprise we weren't late. "Okay class since we are all here. I would like you all to meet Tyler Dew." Our teacher said cheerfully.

I saw him. I saw his dirty blonde hair and light Mahogany brown eyes. "Okay Tyler since you're new and it's the last day how about you choose your seat." Our teacher said with delight.

He was staring at me. He's walking over to my table group, he's sitting down next to me. And then he spoke. "Hi, I'm Tyler and who are you?" He asked in a charming voice. "Hiya, I'm Jean it's nice to meet'cha!" She said in a energetic voice. "Hi I'm Chris." He said in a happy time to have a new friend. "And hi I'm Basil, it's nice to meet you." I said in a sweet and cheerful voice.

"Okay class, we are going outside for the whole day and then you may go home. For today is a half day!" The teacher said. Then the whole class yelled out 'YAY!' "Well then grab your bags and let's go outside!" right then Chris grabbed his bag and the football and Jean grabbed her bag and the soccer ball.

"Come on, Basil, Tyler let's go!" Jean and Chris said. "Okay, let me at least grab my bag!" I said laughing a little at their actions. "Okay." Tyler said not knowing what else to do. While outside our classmates were asking 'Where's Basil, Jean, Chris, and the new kid?'

Just then a random classmate ran up to us and said "Do you have the balls?" we replied saying. "Yes, We Do!" they smiled. "Okay let's play!" they said energetically, we spent the rest of the half day playing.

"Okay, children it's time to go home. I hope to see you all again, and good luck in high school!" our 'now' former teacher said.

"Come on let's walk home today, get Tyler where do you live?" Chris asked as energetic as he could. "Well I live not that far from here. I think it was Spruce Ave." he said. "REALLY?" we yelled scaring him. "That's awesome, we live on Spruce Ave!" we said stopping our trek home.

While our walk home Tyler asked me something. "Hey Basil?" he asked. "Yeah, what is it Ty?" I replied. "First off. Ty? Secondly, where do you, Jean and Chris live?" he asked not knowing. I stopped listening to the question after that. Jean hearing this sped up and dragged Chris behind her. "Hey what's the big idea Jean!?" he yelled as he got dragged away.

"Basil?" he asked worried. "I... Uh.. Live with Jean after something happened a while ago." I said sadly. "Oh... Sorry I didn't... I shouldn't have asked." he said sounding as if he was disappointed in himself. Oh no. "No... It's fine. And Ty's your nickname that I thought of for you. OH i-if you don't like it I can just call you Tyler!" I said quickly and embarrassed. "Oh no it's okay. I like it." he said happily. I blushed.

       "Basil, Tyler hurry up!" Jean and Chris yelled. We both yelped As we ran towards our friends. "Hey Tyler our houses are just up ahead, so where do you live?" Chris asked again.

     "Oh you see that moving truck? That's where I live." he said happily. We stare at him dumbfounded. "..." we didn't say anything. "Um.. You guys okay?" Tyler said sounding a little scared.

      "We live right next to each other?!" The three of us said. "Hey basil, Jean, Chris! Aaah who's your new friend?" Jodi said eyeing Tyler as if she has seen him before. "Oh.. Hi I'm Tyler my family and I just moved in." he said cheerfully.

        "Oooh! You're Jeannette and max's son!" Jodi said confusing us all.
"Um... Yeah how do you know my parents?" he asked a little confused.

        "Oh, my bad right after I dropped off those three I went next door to meet our new neighbors. And to my surprise my friends that I went to school with, moved back Jeannette and Max Dew. It's great to finally meet you Tyler!" she said happily.

          "Hey, Tyler why don't you go home. All of us will be at your house in a little while, okay." she said wanting to see her friends again. "Okay, see you guys later. Bye!" he said while walking home.

          "Bye guys I'll see you later!" Chris said starting on his way home. "Oh wait Chris. Tell your parents; 'Jeanie and Max are back!' Okay." Jodi said cheerfully. "Okay! Bye!" Chris said while running home.

           While running inside, Jean took my hand. "So what happened back there." she asked worried. I looked at her confused. "Ugh... When Tyler asked you where you lived." she said. I looked down at the floor. Then I looked back at her. "He said he was sorry... He didn't know. Then I changed the subject." I replied.

       "Hehe" she giggled. "You like him don't ya." she said giggling. I started to feel heat rush to my cheeks. "Now you can't deny it, you like him. I have to admit you two would look cute together." she said making my cheeks burn more. "GIRLS HURRY UP! LETS GET READY." Jodi yelled.
