Breakdown
It’s a hard and lonely world out there,
Your closest friends,
Act like they don’t even care,
Whether you make it through it all,
Whether you are beaten, bruised,
You can’t stand on one foot,
And you trip and fall.
It’s hard to see the light out there,
When all there is,
Is darkness everywhere.
Under the pressure of people trying to change you,
You feel like there’s no one,
In the world but you,
The ones you thought would be there always,
You call their name twice,
And they’re not answering you.
You know how close a friend is,
When it all comes to an end,
And if you don’t get it,
It’s the impact,
Was it great or just ,
Load off your back?
If only a blade could hurt as much,
But in real life,
The cuts heal,
The wound on your heart does not.
The life you had,
Has fallen apart,
The friendships you made,
Has become shattered apart.
When all that comes,
Are tears to your eyes,
And you ask the question why.
You made my life a bumpy road,
From best friends to the untold,
Some things are worth letting go,
But our friendship I wish we could hold,
When I wrote this poem about you,
I didn’t shed one tear for you,
Even though one day,
I’ll breakdown,
And I don’t think I’ll ever pull myself,
Off the ground.
