Walking down the street, I've never felt more alone. I didn't have a school to go to anymore because I graduated a year early, and I probably couldn't reach family members.

Most of them live in Germany anyway.

I pulled out my phone, and opened it up.

"Hey, Siri? Call 'Yo, What Up Fam Squad?' on speaker."

"Calling 'Yo, What Up Fam Squad?'on speaker..."

The phone rang as I walked. It clicked as Sami picked up.

"Yo, what up Fam Squad?" I heard her shout. I sighed.

"And you wonder why I set that as your contact, Sami. I need your help."

"Yeah, what's up? Whatcha need?"

"My mom kicked me out. Where do I go?" I could practically see her shrug.

"I don't know. I mean, you could stay at my place for a while."

"Nah, I don't want to bother your family. Besides, you're little brother has a crush on me, and you still haven't told him I'm gay."

I could here her laugh. "Well, I find it hilarious when he admits his love for you. Well, if you don't want to stay with us, maybe you could-Oh my gosh! I can't believe I almost forgot! I saw a post on Facebook about a cafe where gay people can meet up, and make out if they so desire."

I cocked an eyebrow.

"I'm interested in the making out part. And what exactly is this gay cafe called?"

"Um, I think it's actual name is The Serenade, but most people just call it The Gay Cafe."

"Hm. Classy. I'll give it a try. Where exactly can I find this gay cafe?" I could hear her type on her keyboard.

"Umm, it says it's 1375 Nw 34th street, and its in your town. Huh. Convenient."

"Of course. Well, I'll call if you if I pick up a cute girl."

"Girl, you better. I bet she'll be hot."

I giggled. "I'll send you a pic. If I have internet. Or a phone plan after this."

"I have money, I'll help you!"

"Dude, no. I'll do this myself."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, man."

"Your pride is gonna kill you."

"I didn't eat much anyway before. I'll just pretend I'm in college, and then it'll be socially acceptable."

There was a pause. "I'll never understand you, Madison Neoma."

"That's the point, Sami."

"I swear, if you just winked at me through this phone, I'm gonna kill you."

I laughed. "No promises. Alright, Sami, I'll talk to you later."

"Cool cool, man. Peace out."

I hung up, and pocketed my phone. I started to walk to the address Sami had told me, looking at the people around me.

Maybe some of them were like me. Maybe some had harder lives. It kinda makes me sad that I'll never know.

I eventually reached the small cafe. "The Serenade" was in rainbow letters, and there was small writing underneath it reading "...or the Gay Cafe, if you're too cool." I laughed, and walked in. A bell rang out, and the door closed behind me.

The girl at the counter looked up and smiled at me. I blushed. She was really cute. Her hair was was cut short, and it curled around her ears.  She wore a jacket over a black shirt, and I could see that she was wearing jeans because of the way she was leaning across the counter. She winked when she saw me blush, and then giggled.
