Once upon a time, a long time ago the Cat and the Rat were very good friends. Everyday they would play together, and they would eat together. Life for them, and all the others was very happy.
Until one day, God told all of the animals that there was to be a competition. The competition was to get to God's palace to see who would be apart of the 12 Chinese Zodiac Animals.
The Cat and the Rat had planned to go together until the Rat decided that he wanted to play a trick on his friend the Cat, so he told the Cat that the competition was the very next day. The Cat believed his dear friend the rat so he went to sleep dreaming of the race that he'd never attend....
The Rat was the very first one to reach the palace and God made him the first of the Chinese Zodiac Animals. Following him came the Ox, the Tiger, the Rabbit, the Dragon, the Snake, the Horse, the Sheep, the Monkey, the Chicken, the Dog, and then the Pig.
After the race God had announced the 12 winning animals.
When the Cat heard the news he was devastated and furious that his so called best friend the Rat would do such a thing to him. "It's all the Rat's fault, I will never forgive him!" said the Cat.
From that day forward the Cat hated the Rat so he would always chase him, while the Rat would run away in fear. For the Cat never forgave his old friend the Rat and to this day, he never will.
