Broken inside

Chapter 7

Lizzy POV
        We arrive at Old Sandlers panting. We ran all the way there. But it wasn't that far, a couple blocks. It's near the school so it's not far. It's a distance but not like ten miles.
         "Well that was a good workout, lets celebrate with ice cream," says Daniel. He laughs along with me and we walk into the shop. Old Sandlers is a nice little place, it has been here longer than I've been alive. It gives that 80s vibe that I always like whenever I walk in it.
         "Hello what can I get you," says the cashier. Oh, he's cute.  
            "Hey, I'll have a large custard and she'll have a medium custard and your number," says Daniel plainly.
            I slap him on the arm and blush. The cashier looks at me and says, "I can give you all three." He smiles at me and writes down his number on a piece of paper. He hands it to me and we walk away.
            "Why on earth would you do that," I yell at Daniel. "Cause you need to forget about Tyler and move on," says Daniel. "What if I'm not ready to move on," I say softly. "Well you need to move on, he was a dick. Plus he didn't even have a dick," says Daniel. I laugh lightly. 
               We get our ice cream and sit down in a booth. I look around at the faces of everyone, but then I spot him sitting all alone in the back booth. Tyler.
                "Oh my god," I say, emotionless. I haven't seen him since that night. That...terrible night. Where was that slut he cheated on me with? Did he have sex with her too much and it killed her? I would think so...but he's not that big to kill her. Ha...but why is he sitting alone. They looked happy, we were happy.
                "What," asks Daniel. He follows my eyes and he turns his back and finally sees Tyler. "Oh my god," he says. He is as emotionless as I am. "What is he doing here? Where was that slut that he cheated with," asks Daniel. My mind is swirling. I see black spots. I feel empty, decayed. "Lizzy? Lizzy stay with me," says Daniel. He gets out of his chair and hoists me onto his lap. He calms me down and I breathe slowly. "Lizzy, you ok," asks Daniel. I look at him, my face is pale white. Daniel hugs me tightly and says, "Don't worry about him, he's nothing now."
              His words calm me and I feel blood rush to my face again, little by little. I look at Tyler to find his staring at us, his face paler than mine was. Daniel notices this and lifts me back into my chair. "Stay here," he says.
             Daniel then turns and starts walking over to Tyler. I grab his arm and he looks at me. "Please don't do this," I say. He pulls his arm and I loose my grip. He keeps walking straight to Tyler. I look at Tyler's face and he is terrified.
Daniel now stands at Tyler's table. Tyler looks up at him, too scared to speak. Daniel slams his hand on the table and yells, "Why the fuck would you cheat on Lizzy? Like what the fuck did she do to deserve that?" Tyler just stares right at him, so scared that he's now shaking. "Tell me," screams Daniel.
"I-I um. I said I was um sorry," stutters Tyler. "Sorry? Sorry! You even think that you can just say fucking sorry for that and just be done with it," yells Daniel.
And that's when it all happened. Daniel punches Tyler right in the face and Tyler stumbles out of his chair. Tyler is stunned and just touches his cheek in pain. Daniel turns and now is walking toward me. "Lets go," he says. He grabs my wrist and pulls me out of my chair. He drags me out of Old
Sandlers and keeps dragging me all the way down the street.
"Ouch Daniel you're hurting me," I say trying to pry his hand off my wrist. He doesn't say anything and keeps his grip. "Daniel let go," I say sternly. My wrist now is throbbing in pain, he needs to let go. But Daniel still doesn't say anything, he just keeps dragging me. "Daniel," I scream, "Get the fuck off me!" I pull backwards so that my arm would loosen, and that's when Daniel lets go. I fall backwards and got my head on the concrete.
Then, black out.
