Alice’s POV
“Wait, come again?” Erica asked.
“I’m still in love with Alice. I know it’s the cliché thing where the guy is in love with the girl but just doesn’t know how to tell her but that’s how I’m feeling. I just don’t want Alice to be all weirded out with this new information but it’s just one of those things you know?”
“Yeah, I got it. I’m going to the bathroom really quick. I’ll be right back, ok?”
“Sounds good. Do you want to call me back?”
“That would be wonderful. I’ll talk to you in a second.”
“Sounds good.”
Erica hung up the phone and looked at me. I haven’t moved nor spoken a word since I heard Sam’s confession. My entire world changed with just a few minutes. He likes me. He may even love me. What has this world come to?
I must have zoned out because next thing I knew Erica was snapping and clapping in my face for my attention. “Welcome back,” she said. “I am going to ask you to leave now that you know what is going on, ok?”
“Ok… I need time anyways.” I responded as I was pushed out the front door and started my trek home.
Erica’s POV
I needed to get Alice out of my house so I could talk to Sam again without her knowing what was going on. I reopened Skype and called Sam. “Hey, sorry for the wait. I got caught up doing something for my mom.”
“It’s all good. I just need advice on what to do.”
“Well, I could start with a secret that if you told anyone I would have to kill you. Ok?”
“I’m a little scared but ok.”
“Alice has been using the past boyfriends to get her mind off of you. She still really likes you.”
The look on his face was priceless. It was somewhere between being in shock, and wonder. His jaw was on the floor. His eyes were bugging out of his head. It was wonderful to watch.
“Now,” I continued, “lucky for you, prom in coming up and I know who you are asking. I also have a few ideas of how to ask her.”
“Ummm,” he stuttered. “Yeah, sounds good. Wow, this is actually happening. Yeah, we’re all good.”
“Good. Now, we need to do a few things.”
Alice’s POV
It has been exactly 3 days, 15 hours and 26 minutes since Sam made his ‘confession’. I am still trying to wrap my head around what he said. I mean, who could really could right? Your ex-boyfriend loves you and you love him too. That sounds so strange. Now guess what? It’s Monday. Which means two things. 1) The school week has begun and 2) I have to pretend I don’t know Sam’s secret and act like everything is perfectly normal. Super easy, right? You’re probably going to be wrong. But, we will see how this goes.
