The breeze gently drifted past his lean figure, making his bangs gently brush his face. The atmosphere was cold and the setting sun reflected the warm reds of autumn. The slight crescent of the moon was visible in the sky. Dressed in a heavy brown coat, he aimlessly wandered on the vast stretch of the field. Suddenly, hearing a short sound, he looked around. He spotted a moving figure in the grass. Walking steadily up to the spot, he thought it would be a rabbit. Slowly, he cleared away the grass and gazed upon an unusual scene. A child, so much like him, was playing between the foliage. His blond hair streaked his face and a small ponytail decorated the back of his head. He wore a white shirt, and attire which resembled a school uniform. "Who are you?" Len asked. The boy didn't reply and continued weaving the strands of grass together. "Who are you?" Len repeated, this time a little louder. He felt odd, as if the boy had something uncanny to do with himself. Something about this boy, Len thought he knew. The boy had bright cerulean eyes, which were highlighted by the golden rays of sunlight. Len wanted an answer; he wanted to know who this boy was. But the boy never turned back, he just plainly kept on weaving grass. Len, who didn't want to ask any more, began silently observing him. He felt strange, almost as if he was drawn into the boy's presence. Something bothered him. A few more long minutes passed by before suddenly, the mysterious boy turned around. Len's bright blue eyes met his equally bright ones and their gazes locked with each other. Their blonde hair gently swayed with the breeze. The similarities between them were so alike and yet, so different. Len had the stature of a young adult whereas the boy was still a child. Childlike confusion framed the boy's face and Len looked perplexed, as though someone had revealed to him, a grievous truth. The time seemed to freeze; everything went still. The wind stopped blowing, the grass stopped swaying, and everything stopped. The gaze continued and between this eye contact, a million unsaid words and a thousand unspoken truths were exchanged. All of a sudden, the boy smiled. The smile that was big and sincere. "Remember", he said and slowly and, just before Len's eyes, he saw the figure of the child fading. It felt like an illusion. The boy slowly vanished and faded away into the distance. Len was startled. He could not move. He felt weak. The boy's resounded inside him. And suddenly, and great calm seized him. He heard faraway voices. Gently, he smiled. He knew what would come over him next and patiently, he waited. Just then, with the passing wind he fell down, his body no longer supporting his soul.

That's all I can explain. This story has no explanation. Interpret it as you like. This story was inspired by this picture. I found it in my folder, got inspired, wrote a quick drable on it. Coz, why not? I'm sorry if it had an abrupt ending or if it wasn't very well written. Even I'm not sure why I wrote this. Anyways, hope you enjoyed this strange, paranormal fantasy of mine!
