Chapter 4 (Storm)

I woke up the next morning around 10. I got up and handled my personal hygiene. It was Saturday and I didn't have anything to do. I went downstairs to eat and saw a man sitting on the couch. I quickly ran upstairs and changed out of the cotton shorts I had on. I threw on a pair of leggings and walked back downstairs. I looked for my mama but I didn't see her. "You looking for yo moms Shorty" the man asked. I looked at him "y-yeah where Is she?" I asked stumbling a bit. He smirked and said "she went to the store but she'll be back soon". I didn't know who this man was or why he was sitting on our couch. He motioned for me to sit down beside him but I quickly declined. Just as I was about to head upstairs my mama walked through the front door carrying grocery bags. "Bitch you just gone stand there or you gone help me" she said. The man started laughing as if something was funny. I ran over to help her with the bags. My mamma had never bought groceries like this so I was wondering what was going on. "Why you buy all this" I asked. "DONT QUESTION ME! You should be grateful yoe ass got some food I ain't have to buy this shit" she said. I just nodded my head and proceeded to help her put up the groceries. "Chris, Baby you want something to eat" my mama asked the man as she took out a pack of chicken. Baby? I said to myself, he had to be her boyfriend. But how I wondered, he looked so young. "Yeah What you finna cook" he asked walking up behind her. "I'm finna fry some chicken and cook some macaroni" she said smiling. I was shocked because I rarely saw her do that. "Bae you gone introduce me to yo daughter" he asked. My mama rolled her eyes hard asf. "Storm this my boyfriend Chris, Chris this my daughter Storm" she said. "Hey storm" he said licking his lips in a sexual manner. "H-Hi" I said barely above a whisper. I walked out of the kitchen and went back up to my bedroom. I looked out the window and saw My Bestfriend April walking towards my house. I ran downstairs and to the door. "Bitch where you going" my mamma asked "I just saw April I think she on her way over here we probably finna chill for a bit" I said looking down "ok bitch don't make me fuck you up" she said. I ran out the door and met April. "Hey Bestfriend" I said smiling. "How you knew I was coming" she asked. "I saw you out the window" I said in a duhh like tone. "Girl you need to get a damn phone" she said laughing. But I didn't see anything funny. My mama didn't let me have a phone. She said she ain't have time to buy a phone and pay the bill for me to be on it hoeing."you know how my mama is" I said shaking my head. "Yeah I know, let's go to the park you know all the fine niggas be out playing basketball" she said "alright" I said. When we got to the park I was sweating like hell. It was damn near 90 degrees outside. The boys were playing basketball and the girls were dressed all up Tryna look cute for them. Me and April sat down on the bench.i looked up and saw meeka headed in our direction. "Heyyyyyy girl" meeka said. I was confused because I knew she wasn't talking to me. "Hey meeka" April said. I looked at April funny because she knew meeka didn't like me. "Girl come over here with us you look too good to be sitting down with yoe bestfriend" she said putting emphasis on the word bestfriend. April started laughing and said "you damn right". She got up and looked in my direction "you gone be good" she asked. "Yeah" I said looking down. I was kinda hurt by April's actions. She knew meeka didn't like me yet she was being all buddy buddy with her. April and meeka switched off leaving me by myself. I looked over at the boys playing basketball and noticed they had took a break. All of the girls were all over them even though they were sweaty as hell. I saw meeka and Myshon hugged up and a sense of jealousy washed over me. I guess he felt me staring because he looked over in my direction and smiled. I shyly smiled back and put my head down. Meeka noticed he wasn't paying her any attention so she looked over to see what he was looking at and when she noticed it was me she mushed tf outta his head. She started yelling and causing a scene. She walked over to me and said "you must want my man bitch" I looked at her and said "no I don't" she cocked her head to the side stared at me with so much hatred. Myshon came over and grabbed her by the arm. "Leave that girl alone and bring yo ass on" he said calmly but in a aggressive manner. "Fuck that bitch I know she want you" she said rolling her eyes. April started walking towards me so I stood up. "Girl come on so we can go before meeka beat yoe ass" April said laughing. I looked at April and rolled my eyes. "What you mad at me for I'm Tryna help you" she said. "You my bestfriend why would you say that" I said. April was acting real shady and I didn't like it one bit . "Listen to yoe bestfriend lil girl April you rolling with us" meeka said. "Bitch of course I am" April said. Myshon shook his head and said "meeka come on" then they all started walking off. I looked at them as they left. As I walked back home I thought about what had just happened and I saw right then and there that maybe April wasn't really my bestfriend or maybe I was just tripping
