Mark and the others retreated inside after what it seemed like hours attempting to fly. Tyler and Kat were amazed by this beautiful and new ability, Kat watching the wings glow and sway to marks breathing. Amy didn't think they were natural and safe. "this isn't some fairytale.." she would repeat. However, she loves and supports Mark fully. Their relationship is strong. Ethan- he completely mistrusted them. He yells words like "witchcraft" and "Demon". Tyler soothed him a bit as night came and made him aware that the neighbors shall not know. Even then, He Hated them.

Everyone grew tired and as did Ethan, All but Mark going to bed. He finished the video he was recording and spent 4 hours editing it. "What a waste of space. 15 hours chopped out all because of these-" he pauses and looks off into space to think. "wings." he smiles.

Tyler gets in bed later than the others, relieved that Ethan chose sleep rather than yelling about the wings. He layed on the bed and stared at the ceiling a while, faintly hearing Mark talk to himself.

"3AM? oh wow. I should really sleep." Mark shuts off his computer and looks in the mirror, expanding his wings out "woah.." He goes to stroke the wings but they jump back, like they have a mind of their own. Seeing this behavior, Mark assumes that something inside him caused these. "uh... H- Hey.. It's okay.. i won't hurt ya" he speaks in a soothing tone.

Tyler remains in his bed, eyebrows slumped down in confusion. (who is he talking to?) he thinks to himself.

The wings shake and tremble, slowly and hesitantly moving back in position, Also in Mark's reach. Gently stroking the edges- he gets odd feelings all over his body. First a moan of pleasure falls from his lips and ticklish giggle the further his hands glide down. Tyler give a disgusted look and rolls over, trying to sleep.

"They're like a part of me" Mark smiles brightly, laying on the bed atop of his gentle wings that provide a comforting cushion. "Maybe I can see the world in a birds eyes." Mark relaxes and daydreams about the thoughts, soon falling asleep

Two Hours later (5AM)

The house is quiet. Not a snore. The AC unit makes the only noise, accompanied by the normal activity outside. Ethan sits up and looks around, listening for the sound of anyone awake or recording; relieved at no sounds.

He exits his room as quietly as possible, creeping downstairs to the kitchen. "i'll save you, mark..." He pulls out a knife and heads back to his room, grabbing a cloth with a strange bottle containing a heavy dose of chloroform.

"it took me forever to get my hands on this. Make it count Ethan! and don't use too much.." he reads the label.

"Chloroform was used as an anesthetic during surgery for many years before its harmful effects on the liver and kidneys were recognized. Breathing about 900 parts of chloroform in a million parts of air (900 ppm or 900,000 ppb) for a short time causes fatiguedizziness, and headache"

"just a few drops.. it won't be that bad.." He steps out of his room and quietly into Mark's, closing the door with a knife in one hand, a rag covered in a few drips held in the other

Mark lays sound asleep with the faint pink glowing wings laying behind him. A sight to see, causing Ethan to pause and admire.

He eventually steps forward, quickly shoving the rag onto his face and holding him down "MMMFF!! EPHAAN!! MMMM!!"  Mark's words were muffled and unheard by the others

"Im here to help." Ethan holds him until mark passes out, letting go of his limp body. He looks to the wings and takes the knife to them and ready to cut "im sorry mark"

As soon as the cold knife touches it, the creature immediately leaves Mark's body, hiding in the corner while cowering in fear

"i knew it! a demon! a witch! whatever you are, you're dead to me." He approaches the small figure, helplessly trembling with its face in the corner "...?" he watches its movements and the fear it holds, dropping the knife and kneeling. "hey.." he strokes the being ever so gently, it flinching at his touch but soon turning to look at him. "i... It's okay." he continues to pet and stroke its small and agile body that still shakes and shivers, its eyes closing and head ducking down at each stroke.

Ethan stands and picks up the knife, looking at Mark then back at the creature. "go ahead." he nods his head in the direction of Mark's unconscious body, the creature gladly and quickly flying back in; the wings appearing once more. "Some day you'll fly, Mark.." He gives a hopeful smile and walks out of the room
