The town of Lakewood seemed quiet to those who never really heard of it, which were a lot.

It was infamous for being nicknamed "Murderville", but that was the key factor that was missing from the many information pamphlets that Lilah and Liam Parker examined thoroughly before making the final decision to move there due to... personal issues in their original home city.

The Parker family moved from Florida to Lakewood; they wanted to find somewhere remote and small, somewhere that people didn't know who they were.

And that was Murderville... Lakewood.

A large white tractor-trailer with a flashy blue logo of a house printed on the side followed the round driveway that led up to a stone house with a black roof.

Lilah and Liam Parker smiled up at their new home with satisfaction as they exited the rented trailer.

"See, sweetheart," Lilah said to her daughter, who jumped out of the truck after the couple, "I told you it was going to be better in person."

The mother tied her ebony hair up into a bun so it wouldn't get in her way when unloading the truck.

A short young woman, with hair matching her mother's, smiled relievingly at the idea of starting fresh in somewhere new; somewhere that was going to be better.

"I can't believe I ever doubted you, Mom," she smiled before walking up to the wooden front door and pulling one of the keys for the house from her pocket.

Unlocking the door with excitement, the girl walked in and let out a happy sigh, taking in the sensation of the completely empty house.

This was there first time she ever moved house before, so the girl was in love with the feeling of a large weight being lifted from her shoulders.

The sensation lasted for a little amount of time before her father walked into the living room with the first batch of small boxes, and set them down in front of her.

With a smile and a pat on the shoulder, the significantly older man looked down at his daughter. "Start unpacking, Minnie," he said, "unless you want to sleep on the floor tonight."

Minnie's eyebrows furrowed as she turned to look at her father, who was walking back toward the large tractor trailer.

Why on earth would they unpack before even looking at all of the rooms in the house?

But Minnie knew that if she asked her parents that exact question, all they would say is to unpack first and ask questions later.
