Yes, quite a cliché topic to start with, but still.
I will be talking about the eros type of love, i.e. romantic love (As opposed to storge, philia and agape).Love.
Every persons (not restricting it to just girls), dream. To find a significant other who accepts you for who you are and loves you unconditionally, till the end of time. Finding your own "forever". But what is this love that people talk so highly about?
Is it understanding? But then, not every therapist who "understands" a patient and his problems, loves.
Is it tolerance? But we tolerate the habits of so many we don't love.
Is it a means of happiness? Anime and manga make me happy, but I can't call that love, now can I?
Is it what they show in the movies? One person being your everything? Yeah, right. This is the 21st century, let's get real.
Then what is love? How can we define love?
We can't.
That's the catch. Everyone's perception of love is different. Everyone has different expectations from love. Everyone wants different things. Which, is the reason why love doesn't work out in so many cases. Still, people take the chance. They're just waiting to fall in love the first chance they get. (Stupid, if you ask me)
People act like love is....magic, or something. It really makes me wonder, you know. If love "breathes new life" into you, why do we see it taking so many at the same time?
In my opinion, love, is a promise. It's just a promise to be there. You don't have to tolerate the person all the time, you don't have to accept each and every decision of theirs, hell, you don't even have to understand them every time. You just have to be there for them. People complicate love so much, these days, but I feel love has to be the simplest thing ever. It's not something that you need to express in grand gestures every few days, actually, the truest of loves is that which doesn't need to be expressed, doesn't need to be validated. Love isn't the sweet words that you say, it is the silence that doesn't need to be filled with words.
People might think my opinion on love is bullshit, hell, if it wasn't 1 o'clock at night right now, even I would consider this as bullshit, but this is my truth. If you don't agree with this, that's actually how it's supposed to be- all people believe in a different love.
So, I am open to arguments, opinions, disagreements, or anything else.
Please let me know.Peace out.
