January 7th 2011.

"This is the only way we'll get what we want." Domnic's voice boomed over the radio, which was playing a clash of horricore music and death metal. "You must understand, Rose." His eyes shifted from the women in a pale blue gown, clutching a child. "I'm giving you an option. It's either my way, or the highway." He hissed, flicking his head back to send the maine of black hair on his head flying backwards.

"Domnic." Rose's voice quivered, as she pulled the baby wrapped in a cotten throw closer to her. "You can't make me choose! You know I love you. You know this; But why!? Why make me choose between my children."

I stood from the shadows, watching the scene unfold as a fire cracked behind Domnic. Never have I ever liked that son of a bitch, always so controlling. So dark, so mean. I wasn't allowed to call him anything but Domnic, even though he was my father. I could call Rose mother, but at the end of the day; He would always be her number one prioprity. So, I did the best that I could to keep my distance, and call them Rose and Domnic.

They'd named me Lupe Jessica Blank. Blank? Yeah, I say 'Blank', because I don't even consider myself a part of this torn home. Merely an outsider.

"Don't make me choo-" Rose began, but her words shrivled and died as I emerged from the black cloak of the shadows.

"Why do you even ACT like you care?" I hissed threw clenched teeth, my finger nails digging into the fresh layers of skin on my palms. "Why, Rose?!" I asked. I had no right to speak at this moment, they hadn't even noticed I was there, but this was the last straw. I couldn't stand it. As much as I hated it, I had the apperance of Domnic. Something dark, and spooky. My hair was a mess of curls, trailing over my shoulders and hitting just below my collar bones, my skin; as pale as the moon. My eyes shone the saddest shade of gray, and my body was tiny yet threatening. In no way did I resemble Rose.

"What're you doing, Lupe?" Domnic hissed, taking a violent step toward me. I wanted to not flinch, but it came and I jerked back a bit as he got closer. "You're supposed to be in your room!" His voice rose.

"It's my birthday! I'm thirteen today!" I cried. Domnics clear gray eyes thundered with an order of obenciy.

"You betray me? Your mother? You do not do as we ask!" Domnic said, overreacting like he did over everything.

My eyes swept the room, taking in the wine bottle, the steak, the fire and the Satanic bible. A crease formed in my forehead as my eyes swept back to Domnic.

"What're you doing..." I whispered with confusion, stepping back again so my face was now only partly lit my the fire.

"I think we've made a choice." Domnic hissed, his head turning to look back at Rose as she choked back a cry.

"You want wealth?! You want to not be poor anymore!? Want to be famous!?" Domnic laughed, hysteria hitting his voice as his fingers wrapped around my small wrist. He tugged me forward, even though I dropped my body weight then. I fought with everything I had. "I'm tired of hearing you cry to me! I'm making our lifes better! Satan, He'll make everything better! God's worst enemy, I'm against that bastard of a 'god'!" Domnic went on, shoving my head down on the floor a few times. Rose simply watched, whimpering. "Satan!" He hissed, grabbing for his steak and knocking over the bible, his knees digging into my wrists. I felt they might snap and I cried out as I felt blood tickle down my forehead.

"Why?" I whimpered quietly, my eyes struggling to stay open.

"Satan, please! As a faithful man, I have promised my wife a world of wealth! Please give us wealth, luck and happiness! In exchange for our daughter!" Domnic yelled as he lifted the steak with both hands. Only then did I realize his words as I watched the steak plunge down at me.
