Chapter 2 Turrets and Negative Thoughts

Ryland's P.O.V.
"How do you know?"

I heard her choke her words, as confusion clouded her beautiful grey eyes. A strand of her auburn hair fell forward, and I wanted to reach out and put back where it belonged, but I knew I couldn't do that.

"Look this might be confusing and all, but I hope you forgive me for doing this to you." I said in pure exasperation and sorrow.

"I don't understand." I heard her mumble under her breath.

"I know, but you'll understand soon, I promise," I replied in conviction, "now let me help you out."

She tentatively placed her small, soft hand in my big one, this instantly warmed my heart, I felt hope and sparks rush through my blood, like a bullet train on a railroad, wind blowing everywhere.

I helped her out of the moving van, making sure she didn't slip from my hold on her, as she was still weak. I could feel her shaking with every step we took.

" Where are we?" I heard her gasp in amazement, at the castle.

Alice's P.O.V.

OMGoodness! I thought in complete and utter shock, before me was a castle. It's royal blue turrets were sky high, and its' stone walls were brandished in green vines with extravagant pink flowers... This compared to my old home was a HUGE upgrade, even if it was the base to my newly found enemies... Whoever they were.

I looked back at, was it Ryan? Or Ryland? I couldn't remember, as I was still dazed by the beautiful castle before me. Anyways I looked at him, and from what I could read from his facial expressions, he looked determined and easygoing.

That was a good thing right? He could actually be my key to escape! I thought to myself, but of course being who I am, I let all the negative thoughts I held in the back of my mind slowly seeped through.

What if he was my nightmare? What if I won't make it out? What if I don't see my mother again? What if I don't see my home again? What if this place is like a maze, designed to trap people with bad navigational senses, people like me? What if this is actually a lab where they do projects, and the lab rats are human beings? OK I think you get the picture.

I heard a chuckle, and looked at the guy... I'm just gonna stuck with the guy, cause I'm honestly terrible with names, and I can't remember his name.

"What?" I asked faintly, as my negative thoughts channeled through my positive thoughts.

"Relax! Alice you're not gonna get hurt," he looked at me, and his face turned serious, "but seriously, if anything happens I'm going to kill your father."

"My father?"

"Did I say your father? Sorry, I meant my father." He corrected himself, and a light blush tinted his cheeks.

Riiiiight!? I thought to myself, I'm officially stuck with men that potentially be nutcases. Great, just great.

My thoughts were rudely interrupted by a man yelling. I looked toward the front of the castle, and gasped in shock.
