Me and Terin have always been enemies. We never knew why, we just were. Nothing would change that. Well that's what we thought. Until about a year ago. I was with my friend at the mall. And we had ran into Terin at a store. I had thought nothing about it at the time. That was until what happened changed everything. All of our phones went off. "Emergency Alert~ Tornado Warning, Take Cover Immediately". I had looked over to Ciara. "It probably won't even hit us" she had said, reassuring me. Ever since I was five and my home in Florida had been swept away from a hurricane, I've been deathly afraid of storms. "I'm going to the bathroom" she continued. She then walked away leaving me and Terin standing alone. There were loud ringing noises and sirens. Then the sound of breaking glass. "Kayla, if you wanna live, you'll follow me" Terin had said holding out his hand. We only had seconds to take cover so I went with my gut, and followed him. That part I thought I'd never forgive myself, he'll probably try to kill me. Instead Terin had led us into a store. We had been sitting under some shelf for maybe .5 seconds, and then the tornado ripped through the store. The shelfs had fell, But Terin had been covering me. Once everything was done, I had realized I was wrong about Terin. That maybe things would change after today. We then walked out of the store. The only part of the entire mall that was standing was the corner me and Terin had been in. Nobody but me and Terin had made it through that storm. I had lost my parents, and my best friend. I was 17 at the time. I didn't know what I was going to do. Terin agreed that him and his parents would help me out. From that day until now, we have been inseparable.
