You woke up to the door of the hotel room opening. Tyler walked into your room wearing a white shirt and gray shorts with a gray snapback on. He held the door open with his foot, and awkwardly walked in with a goofy smile on his face. In his right hand
he had a tray with two coffees in it, and in his left, he carried a bag with the starbucks logo on it.
You sat up and smiled. Tyler always knew Starbucks made you happy and surprised you with it all the time.
"Mornin," he said sounding out of breath.
You excitedly bounced on the bed as he handed you the tray of coffee.
He plopped down next to you digging into the bag and handing you a panini.
"Nervous about today?" You asked as you bit into your warm panini. "Yeah, I just dont think i've got a chance against these guys." He said frowning.
I hated when he said things like this, hes one of the best, heck, hes nominated for the Hart.
"Tyler, why do you think you're even nominated, because everyone else thinks you are worthy of this award," I said looking at him.
" I know I know" he agreed, "Im just happy you're here with me." I smiled at him, taking a sip out of my straw.I curled my hair, and put it into a messy braid. After it looked somewhat presentable, I did a golden brown makeup look. I pulled my dark red dress over my head, trying not to ruin my hair. My dress had skinny straps, a slit running up my right leg, and hugged all my curves. I looked hot.
Tyler walked in to the room with an unbuttoned white shirt and some dark blue slacks on. His eyes went wide as he looked me up and down.
"Wow" was all he could say. I gave him a shy smile.
"you look incredible," he said. "Well, all you ever see me in is jeans and a shirt" I quietly responded.
"Is it too much?" I asked, " no, it's perfect." he responded. We arrived at the Staples Center and immediately Tyler was pulled to the side for interviews. Ever so often I would see him look at me, making my cheeks heat up. Him and I took pictures together before entering the stadium.
As the night went on, I noticed Tyler get a little more impatient and nervous. I wrapped my arm with his and squeezed his hand giving him a reassuring smile. He looked at me and gave me a nervous one."And the winner of the Hart Memorial Trophy is...." The announcer said, pausing for a minute.
He opened the letter and his eyes scanned the paper over before he read aloud "TYLER SEGUIN"
Him and I stood up, a huge smile plastered on both of our faces, I squeezed him tight before he walked towards the stage.
"Wow, thank you guys" he said in disbelief. " First off, I'd like to congratulate the other nominees, they both are outstanding players. I'd like to thank the Stars organization and staff for their support and effort, and lastly I'd like to thank my family and my girlfriend," he said looking into my eyes. I found myself looking around with my mouth slightly open as if I were to announce that I wasn't his girlfriend "They are the real reason I'm here. Thank you again." He said hoisting the trophy in the air and walking off stage.A part of me was screaming with happiness at him calling me his girlfriend, and the other was shock. The award ceremony ended, and my confused thoughts vanished away.
After the ceremony, we decided to stop for a late night ice cream celebration. "I am so proud of you Ty!" I exclaimed, "thanks" he laughed . We happily ate our ice creams, talking about his overall season.
Tyler hung his huge suit jacket around my shoulders, rubbing his hands up and down my arms warming me up. We walked through the parking garage towards our car.
"I hope you didnt mind me calling you my girlfriend," he quielty said, blushing. " I liked it," I responded smiling, "maybe you should use that term more often" he looked up at me with hopeful eyes and smiled.
