Burr admits his actions were childish and so were Hamilton's. Burr and Hamilton come to an agreement and the duel is called off. Alexander goes back to his house before Eliza wakes up. Alex dead asleep and Eliza now awake finds Alex had kept his promise and came back to bed before she knew he was gone. Eliza smiling once again ever since the death of her 19 year old son Philip she had gone mute in a sense. Philip had no motive to kill but George did. Eliza now happy that Alexander is back in bed is better than anything Alex can ask for. Alexander wakes up to see Eliza happy and Eliza runs to Alex because she heard what happened. Eliza exclaims "Oh Alexander please don't get into another duel again. I heard what happened, please just keep your thoughts to your head and pen."
