HISTORY

Samuel was born a father of Mexican descent and a mother of Korean descent on January 17, 2002 in Los Angeles. He is fluent in Korean, English and Spanish.

PRE-DEBUT

Samuel made his first appearances to the public through a series of live broadcasts called Seventeen TV in which various trainees of Pledis Entertainment were introduced to the public. However, towards the end of 2013 he departed from the company ahead of debut due to personal reasons.

1PUNCH, SPOTLIGHT

In 2015, the singer debuted in the hip-hop duo named 1PUNCH together with labelmate One under Brave Entertainment taking PUNCH as his stage name. Eight months later, One was scouted by YG Entertainment leading to the disbandment of the duo. After this, the singer was said to be preparing for a solo comeback under the name PUNCH, but this was never realized by the company. Under the name PUNCH, the singer collaborated with Silentó releasing the song "Spotlight" and later joined Silentó on tour in the US.

PRODUCE 101 SEASON 2

In 2017, Samuel participated in the second season of ongoing popular survival show Produce 101 under his own name, Kim Samuel. He was expected to do well; during the first elimination (episode 5), he was ranked 2nd. However, during the second elimination, his rank dropped to 16th. At the third elimination, he was ranked 5th. The show ended on June 16th with Samuel being eliminated and not being picked as part of 'WANNA ONE'.

SOLO-DEBUT

Right after the final episode of Produce 101, Brave Entertainment announces Kim Samuel's Solo Debut.

Before the show ended, a representative from Brave Entertainment confirms that If Samuel will not be picked, they'll be preparing for his solo debut right away.

The representative said they already finished recording 10 tracks and they're been working hard for this solo debut since then. He also teases that these tracks got the vibes of famous western artists like Chris Brown & Justin Bieber.

Days passed and Brave Entertainment released his first teaser on VApp, showcasing Samuel's journey from being with Seventeen to 1Punch & Spotlight Era up to his message about ending Produce 101 journey.

Last June 21, Samuel surprised fans by announcing his fandom name as "MELONA" during a live broadcast on VApp. Brave Entertainment also dropped the tracks for his solo debut with "SIXTEEN" as the title track.

Album Title/Name is not yet confirmed while his debut is scheduled on August this year (2017)
