I take a deep breath. After debating with myself, whether or not I should get help, I decide it's about time we both get help. I stand up from the cold gray cement floor I was sitting on, before I change my mind. My decision has been made. Slowly I make my way up the stairs, trying not to make a sound. I make it up the stairs, and I find my dad in the living room. Passed out with 5 empty beer bottles around him. I slowly walk to the couch, and look at him. Memories of how happy my dad was when my mom was still alive, flash before my eyes.

I whisper to him, "Daddy, I love you and I'm going to help you and myself. I'm going to take away all of this pain. I love you Daddy."

A tear escapes my left eye, and with silent steps, I make my way from the living room, to the kitchen, and find myself at the door. Taking slow deep breaths, I shut my eyes. Life for my dad and I will change today.

I take the warmest sweater I have off the coat hanger and put it on. I open the door, still making sure I'm quiet enough not to wake my dad up (though I'm sure he's drunk enough to sleep through anything right now). The door shuts behind me as I start walking down the driveway. The sun is slowly coming down to set, and I know it's Friday, around 6. I turn right as I near the end of my driveway. With one last look at the house I called my home, I run. I run down the street, and I don't stop for a good 10 minutes. I live about 20-25 minutes away from the city because my dad and I live out in the outskirts of the town. As I'm walking, I think about what I'm going to do. What am I going to say? How will my dad react to this? Will he stop loving me? Heading toward the police station, many scenarios and questions roam through my head. I start to run again to loosen myself up. Getting lost in my thoughts, I lose attention as to where I'm going. I trip on a rock as I see the police station come into view. Realizing I'm going to hit the sidewalk pretty hard, shutting my eyes, I brace myself for the fall. Before I hit the hard cemented pavement, I feel a pair of strong arms wrap around me. In shock, I open my eyes and face the guy who saved me from that horrible fall. Staring into a pair of blue eyes, I think to myself, how did I get so lucky? I just got caught by a beautiful and charming prince.

"Woah there pretty lady. We just met and you're already falling for me already? Haha just kidding, are you alright?"

The blonde hair blue eyed beauty just spoke to me. His voice is like music to my ears. His voice is deep and welcoming.

"Uhm hello? Cat got your tongue? Do you understand English?"

"O-Oh yeah hi, I'm fine!" I replied to him, with a slight blush on my cheeks.

"So the pretty lady does speak English." The beauty says with a cocked eyebrow. "My name's James. I'm glad I ran into you. Actually you were the one who ran into me, I'm glad I caught you." He said as he put me back on my feet. I hadn't even noticed that he still had me in his arms. Whoops. It's not like I minded though. I felt safe in his arms.

"Yeah! I do speak English! Well hi James. My names uh- uhm.. Savannah! It was nice meeting you too. Thanks for catching me, I was expecting to just fall on the side walk pretty hard, but my face is fine now, so my face thanks you! I better go though. I'll watch my step from now on, thanks again for catching me!" I ramble quickly.

"Anytime Savannah. It was nice to meet such a pretty lady like you. You seem like a sweet person. It was really nice to meet you and I hope to catch you again soon!" James winks. "Bye Savannah."

Before I left, he gave me a smile. James is so charming! He seems like such a great guy. What can I say? I'm a teenage girl, with a teenage girl mind. When I see an attractive guy, I get riled up! Anyways back to what I actually needed to do. I continue to head towards the station.

My right hand reaches out to the door. I notice my hand trembling. I put it back down. Taking a deep breath, I know I have to do this for myself and for my dad. Bringing my right hand to the handle, I pull the door open. Straight ahead, I see a desk with a computer, a phone and a young lady with blonde hair that was pulled into a ponytail, working on the computer. Hearing voices all around me, I look around all and take in the surroundings. There are chairs along the windows, and officers walking everywhere and into different rooms. I'm guessing to their own offices? Snapping myself back to what I was here for, I walk over to the lady and she looks up at me.

"Hello. What can I help you with?" She questions me. I see that she has a name tag. Her name is Fiona.

" Hi. My name is Savannah. I actually came here for help. I have no one else to turn to. It's my dad. He's an alcoholic and an abuser. He's been drinking and abusing me for around 2 years. Will you be able to help me? Most importantly my dad?" I murmur to the woman named Fiona.

For a moment, Fiona's face went to pity, into pure shock, and then composes herself. She quickly pushes a bunch of buttons on the phone and asks for an officer to come to the front right aways.

"I'm glad you came here. You came to the right place. We will do all that we can to help you. I'll get an officer to meet with you right aways. Don't be afraid or worried okay? He will ask you a lot of questions. Everything we do is to make sure you will be okay, and also that your father will be okay. For this to happen, we need you to tell us all that you can alright?" Fiona tells me, I nod and I try to soak it all in. I really did it. We'll finally get help. Fiona gives me a reassuring smile.

I hear footsteps approach towards me and I look up and see Fiona greeting someone. I turn my gaze to where she is looking at and see an officer facing me.

Fiona looks at me and says,"Here you are dear, this is officer Lucas Hessy. He will be the one to ask you questions, and will be the one to help you with your situation."

"Hi Savannah. Don't worry alright? You're on good hands, and everything will be settled soon enough. Will you come with me? I'll be asking you questions about this." Officer Hessy says to me with a warm smile.

Mustering enough confidence, I look to officer Hessy and speak out."Yes officer Hessy. I'm willing and ready to do whatever needs to be done to help myself and my dad."

"Awesome! Just come with me."

Officer leads me to a room with a huge mahogany table and two rows of chairs beside the table, and a tv in the right corner of the room. To the left there is a black leather couch. The walls are gray, with accented pictures around the room. The lights are along the walls, and gives off a nice glow to the room. I look down and I see charcoal carpet.

"Take a seat, oh and by the way you can call me Lucas if you like." Officer says to me.

I take a seat on a chair that's beside the table. Lucas takes a seat right across from me, and takes out a notepad and a pen. A take a deep breath. It's time for me to tell him everything. Everything I've been keeping hidden for two years.

With a smile, he looks at me and asks, "So tell me about your whole situation from the beginning."
