Iris POVShe's so beautiful. Why can't she be mine. I don't want anyone else to have her. Just me and only me. Why can't I just have that. She is my happiness. My joy in life. And there she is. Just standing there, as beautiful as ever. This is my chance. To ask her.
"I want her. I need Stella Bargardi in my life. She needs to be mine." I whisper a slight reminder to myself. There are passing students all around. Thank my lord no one is in the way of my view, but one person, Tatum Marlark. Tatum Malark shouldn't be here. He doesn't deserve Stella. She needs me. Not a single soul could tell me otherwise. I gain enough courage to begin to walk towards my love.
"I can do this, just keep your head down. Don't look her in the eyes. Just keep pacing." My thoughts are going wild. I'm overthinking.
Once again, I lift my head and begin to walk faster. The goddess seemed farther away than I thought. I felt like then I began to run, the thud. I'm laying on a black, hard surface. It was warm and lively. I didn't see, I couldn't see. All of a sudden, a pair of muscular tongs grab my shoulders.
"You are as blind as a bat to think that she will ever get to her. Maybe you should just turn around and walk ya' happy ass to class," a deep, heavy voice startles me.
"Just leave me alone alright. Gosh, I don't need a big machine like yourself coming up to me and telling me what I can and cannot do."
Tatum's face filled with anger. "What did you just-," pushing him aside, Stella comes through with Rosemary, her best friend of course.
"Tatum, just let him talk please," Stella said with a heart warming smile, making my stomach fill with butterflies.
"Is it just hot today or is that you?" My palms began to sweat, realising that was the corniest pun ever in history.
I was just stared at blankly by Tatum and Stella's best friend, Rosemary. Stella blushed.
I quickly filled with embarrassment and began to walk away. My pace quicken with every step I took. I kept hearing my name being called over and over again, but I didn't stop. I felt a tug in my shoulder.
"Hey wait, Iris." Stella willingly said, trying to catch her breath. "Damn boy you walk fast." I gave a small chuckle and she smiled. She's so cute and little. Just so perfect.
"So, Iris.."
"Yes, Stella.."
"Wanna go out tonight, with us? My dad'd club has opening night tonight and it would be nice if you would come." she said looking down, playing with the key chain in her hand.
"You want me to come?"
"Yeah sure why not? Here's my number. Just text me when you have your answer." she said with a tiny giggle, pulling out a black pen and scribbling little numbers on my arm.
LATER THAT NIGHT
The sound bounced off the walls. It was loud. It reeked in the smell of body sweat. The room was totally disgusting. I didn't even want to dance anymore. The only reason I came was because Stella was going to be here. Oh gosh, I hope she comes soon. I have a big surprise for her...
"What are you doing here?" Tatum approached. He had Stella around his arm like he owned her but I knew one day she would be mine.
"What do you mean what am I doing here? This is a public club. I can come if I wanted to."
"Man, you are such a stalker. No wonder Stella wouldn't want you. She thinks you're weird and you should back off."
Stella and I stared at each other for a minute.
"Did you really say that?" I asked with worry in my voice. I was praying that she didn't mean it.
"You should go Iris." she said to me, as plain as could be. Her head hung.
"Yeah, you should go." Tatum emphasized. I left. Feeling defeated.
I started walking towards the door, but there was too many people crowding it to get out. I was almost out the door when I was pulled back in by my wrist. I couldn't tell who it was, but their hands were soft, gentle, cold. I turned and saw who it was. Butterflies filled my stomach, not knowing why this would happen. It was Stella.
"So, do you want to dance or not?" she talked over the music. I stared at her.
Bitch didn't you just push me away because of your boyfriend?
I nodded my head and grabbed her hand. We then danced to the beat of the sound of the loud drums from the speakers.
She was a goofy dancer. She danced like she had no care in the world. We were just having our good time.
"Are you thirsty?" I asked her. She nodded her head.
"I am going to get you some punch, okay?" She nodded, still moving her hips to the rhythm.
I then slipped out of her grasp to make my way to the bar to help myself to some punch. I grabbed two cups and filled them with the red liquid. I watched the juice pour straight into the cup.
Grabbing the cups, I tried making my way back to Stella.
As I walked back to the spot where we had danced, I couldn't find her. I moved around a bit and she was still out of sight.
