A new start.

The morning sun was peeping through the thin bedroom curtains. Summer was here.
The smell of my fresh bed sheets filled my nostrils as I looked at the alarm clock resting on my bed side table. 7:26am. Any minute now.
'Good morning Sadi!' Cried my mother, she was glowing with excitement as she swept open my curtains, it didn't make much difference to the room, it just made the bird songs a lot more noticeable.

'Your bus will be here in an hour, you picked out your clothes for today last night didn't you hunni? You had a shower didn't you? What do you want for breakfast?'
  All these questions, too early.
'Just... ugh... let me... get ready... I'll be down in a minute...'
I said flopping back down onto my memory foam pillow.
She let out a productive huff and shuffled down stairs out of my way.
A few minutes later off went my alarm.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BE...
It was now time for me to get up, I ask myself every morning, why bother setting and alarm if she's just gonna come and wake me up anyway?
I always worried that she would forget to wake me up, but she never forgets. Ever.

7:45am I stumbled down stairs, and on the table awaited the usual Monday morning feast. A big plate full of scrambled egg, bacon, sausage and toast lay opposite my mum.
'Sit down sweetie, you need the energy to get you through your first day of school'
I gave her a brief smile and sat down, started eating and then she spoke.
'You did have a shower last night didn't you Sadi?' She looked unconvinced.
'Yes' I said ramming for face with bacon. 'Twice'
She took a deep sigh and smiled.
'I'm only worried sweetie, I don't want the other kids thinking you, well...'
I looked up at her.
'What? Smell?' I said with a sarcastic tone.
I was over weight, there was no denying that, and I got sweaty, fast. BO isn't a pleasant smell for anyone, it's even worse when you don't know you smell of it.
At my old school in Michigan, mum worked late nights, so wouldn't be in when I got home. So I'd raid the cupboards and fridge for chocolate and candy, then have a shower just before she got home, so she never told me I smelt, well because... I always washed it off before she got home.
Of course I didn't know I smelt, you can never smell your self can you?
After a few awkward moments silence.
'Ooh, Hun your bus is her! Quick you'll be late'
She said passing me my school bag and packed lunch then pushing me out the door.

I got on the bus.
