Thursday September Twenty fourth.
It was only the third time we had talked, the fourth time I had wanted to talk but Skylar was somehow already starting to change me. I was still shy, awkward, and uncomfortable in general, but I could feel her prying off little bits of the wall I kept myself behind.
"Hey!" I was walking down the steps, the same ones I had first talked to Skylar on, when I heard her. Her steps told me she was close behind, and I slowed down a bit to let her catch up.
"Hi." It wasn't super confident, but to me it was the most courageous thing in the world. No stutter. No hesitation.
Skylar looked at me, as we walked in unison down the steps. She seemed surprised. I beamed.
"No stutter!" Her words soaked in slowly and I put my hand over my face as I blushed. We hardly knew each other but this was more progress than I had made in talking with anyone I didn't know.

"What?" I asked quietly. There was something wrong. But Skylar just grinned at me.
"You're cute when you're deep in thought." She walked ahead of me then, and I slowed, shocked by her forwardness. "See you tomorrow Alex!" She shouted to me as she hurried away.
It took me ten minutes just to slow my breathing, which had quickened incredibly in a number of seconds.
