THE FRESHMAN (CLOSED - TEMPORARILY)

Chapter 1 - Welcome to Hartfield University

Today is my first day, so I decide to walk around campus.

"Ugh, this suitcase weighs about a thousand pounds" I sigh.

"Maybe I shouldn't have packed so much"

As I turn a corner I bump into a guy jogging by.
"Whoa" he said.

We're both knocked off our feet.

"Are you okay?!" I asked.

"Well, my ego is a little bruised, if the other guys on the football team saw me get tackled by a pretty girl, they'd never let me forget it."

He offers me a hand, and helps me pick my things up.

"I'm Chris by the way."

"I'm Nicki"

"Nicki...for some reason that rings a bell. I haven't broken anything have I?"

"I'll be fine, my hand is a little scraped up but it's okay."
"Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Well, you could help me with my bag?"

Chris looks down at my bag that's popped open. He picks up a lacy black bra that's next to the bag.

Oh wow...I didn't mean to...eh...is this yours?"

He blushed. I grab the bra from his hands and stuff it in my bag. I put everything in my bag and zip it back up.

"I think that's enough help for one day."

A girl then walked up to me and Chris

"Chris there you are! Don't forget the kappa house mixer tonight."

"Oh..Becca. Hey. I'd love to go, but I promised my roommates I'd hang out with them."

"Too bad...I promised you'd have a better time with me..."

"Uh..we're kinda in the middle of a conversation..." I said.

"It looked to me you were just leaving."
"Actually--"

Just then, Becca drops her iced coffee at my feet splashing it all over me.

"SERIOUSLY?!"

"Oops I'm so clumsy.

"Nicki your outfit! I'll go find some napkins."

As soon as Chris leaves, Becca leans in close.

"Just so you know, Chris is mine."

"Oh, he's your boyfriend?"

"Not yet, but he will be."

"Oh yeah? I couldn't care less about your love life."

"Good. Just stay out of my way and we'll be fine."

Chris runs up with a stack of paper napkins.

"This is the best I could do."
