With quick and nimble steps, the young blonde descended down the stairs, humming a soft tune to himself. He was still in a very good mood from the events prior, he didn't think the day could get any better or worse.
If only he knew.
Once he reached the door he panicked slightly, realising that he didn't have his keys. He frantically looked around, fumbling around his pockets in search of the keys. His body froze abruptly, as if somebody had pressed the pause button. Realisation slapped him in the face for the second time today.
"Right. I don't have keys!" He chuckled, shaking his head at his forgetfulness. He turned towards the door and unlocked the chain lock. He grinned in anticipation,he was more excited than he should be over opening a door in all honesty. He pulled the door open, only to come face to face with...
"MC!" Yoosung greeted the young woman cheerfully, smiling widely from ear to ear as he pulled her into a warm (completely platonic because this is all about the gay ships-) embrace. The smile slowly began to slip off his face when the brunette did not return the hug, let alone even react in any way towards his actions. Something was wrong.
He pulled away from her, the worry in his violet eyes turning from a calm ocean to a turbulent storm of anxiety and concern in a matter of milliseconds. The MC standing in front of him was not the MC from the chat. This was not the crazy, loving woman he had always known. No, this was a completely different woman entirely.
Her usually well groomed brown locks were reduced to what looked like a bird's nest sitting on top of her head. Her posture was not the same, hunched over with her shoulders slumped, the atmosphere around her practically oozing with apathy. There were bags clearly evident beneath her eyes, she looked like death. Her were eyes no longer bright and shining with radiance that illuminated the room when she walked in; instead, Yoosung was met with dimmed, lifeless pools of murky amber, devoid of any emotion.
What happened to her? What happened to the princess of the RFA? What happened to the shining star in the darkness? More and more questions formed within Yoosung's head, his levels of distress rising at an alarming rate.
"M-MC? W-what's wrong?" He asked, voice wavering and cracking uncontrollably.
A painfully tense silence filled the air, the atmosphere was so thick that you could cut it with a knife. Yoosung stood there, waiting, hoping for some kind of response. He felt like he couldn't breathe, like phantom hands had wrapped their cold fingers around his throat, squeezing all senses of comfort out of him.
MC eventually gave a soft sigh, her gaze falling to the side as she looked down at the ground with melancholic eyes. "Yoosung... There's something I need to tell you." She spoke in a monotonous but sombre tone, refusing to make eye contact with anything but the floor.
"W-what is it MC? Did anything happen to you? Please say that nothing happened-"
"No... But something did happen to you..."
Yoosung was slightly taken back by being cut off, even more confused by MC's response.
"What do you mean?" He asked, raising an eye brow as he leaned against the doorframe. As far as he knew, nothing else had happened to him other than he had earned himself the best boyfriend in the world.
"Yoosung... Seven doesn't love you..." The brunette muttered in response, not daring to even meet Yoosung's gaze.
"I-I'm sorry what? Of course he loves me... Right?" He protested in disbelief, although he was beginning to have doubts himself too, but he pushed them away, holding onto his belief, his truth, "If he didn't love me he wouldn't have said all those wonderful things to me. He wouldn't have made me feel special. He wouldn't have told me that he loved when he didn't. He's not like that!"
"But I'm telling the truth Yoosung... I'm sorry but this was all a trick... A prank..." She mumbled, meekly with feigned remorse.
"N-no... I-I don' t believe you..."
"But I'm telling the truth... He even told me about it yesterday, see?"
MC took out her phone, opening up a text conversation she had with Seven, displaying their plans to prank Yoosung.
Time seemed to stop and gaze in pity once violet eyes acknowledged the presence of the truth he had been denying. Every single word he read in that conversation was another bullet to his heart. He couldn't believe it, he didn't want to believe it. But now he had to accept it, the reality crashing down upon his heart like a thousand bricks of titanium.
He had been lied to. He had been betrayed. He had been tricked. He had been deceived. His naivety had been taken advantage, leaving him as a broken hearted fool. Seven never loved him, his words of love had just been poison daggers coated in sugary, sweet, deceptive lies.
Tears of bitter anger and dismay pricked his eyes, blurring his vision as they cascaded down his cheeks. His mouth had hardened into a grimace, his fists clenched and his breathing uneven from suppressed anger.
MC watched him, expression painted in guilt and sympathy. She wanted to hug him, to apologise since that was all she could do, but her body wouldn't move, as if her limbs were frozen in a block of ice. She could see it in his eyes. Behind the curtain of wrath covering the window to his soul, there was a heart that was broken, shattered into a billion galaxies of tear stained glass. She wanted so badly to help him, to put his heart back together but she knew that was the job of time.
"Yoosung...I-I'm sorr-" MC wasn't able to finish her apology before the door was slammed shut vehemently in her face. She was shocked for a few moments before regaining her composure, pressing her ear against the door to listen in.
Yoosung immediately raced upstairs to his room, breaking down completely as he let out his emotions through waterfalls of agonising heartache. He could feel the broken shards of his heart sinking into his chest, it was far too painful.
Eventually his cries died down, silence falling upon the room as he was left there, curled up against the wall, blankly staring out at the dimly lit space in front of him. He no longer felt pain, he felt numb, completely dead inside.
Was this love? Was this the sensation he had desired? Was this really the only thing people supposedly needed in life?
If this unbearable pain was love, he wanted none of it.

If only he knew the the truth.
If only he saw her true intentions.
The minute the door was shut in her face a twisted grin danced upon her lips, amber eyes filled with malicious intent. She walked away, a little more skip in her step as she celebrated internally at her success.
"It will only be a matter of time before you're mine..." MC giggled quietly, eyes darkened with insanity as she stared down at her phone screen at the man that was meant to be hers.
"Just you wait... Saeyoung."
