Cheaters

It was their 1 year anniversary and Lea-Shae was going over to give her boyfriend Rick his present, she had hoped he would have remembered.  She didn’t call to tell him that she was coming because she wanted it to be a surprise.  She opened the door of Rick's house with the spare key he had given to her; she went up the stairs to Rick's bed room and was greeted by the sweet scent of Bayberry Mist the candle she loved most.  Her face lighted up as she thought he had been preparing for her arrival but things took a turn for the worst as she heard giggling coming from the room she became suspicious as Rick's little sister was at dance practice.  As she drew closer to the bedroom door her heart pounded as she heard her favorite song playing, the door was ajar so she opened it full.  She was speechless as to what was before her eyes, it was Rick and Emily making-out on his bed.  She couldn’t believe her best friend was doing this to her.  But why?

She cleared her throat to signify to them that someone was there, Rick lifted his head first and his eyes peeled open as he saw Lea-Shea and got up quickly and moved towards her to explain but as he came closer to her she stepped back. “REALLY? REALLY?” she shouted viciously at Rick, as he tried to find his words Emily took the task and readily said “I’m sorry Lea, I really am, I didn’t mean to ……….”  Lea shakes her head and looked at them both and said “such a fool I was walking around thinking that you two were my real friends and behind my back your…… huh I don’t even know what to say!”.  As Rick opens his mouth to speak Lea shouts non-chalantly at him “you know what you can keep her and you both can rot in hell for all I care”.  She threw the key at Rick and stormed from the house he followed her and calling out “Please let me explain myself… Lea! Lea!”  She didn’t even glimpse back at him but went straight into her car and drove off.

The cool summer breeze dried the tears from her face quickly as they spilled from her eyes, she didn’t even know what to think or who to go to.  Her two “best friends” had betrayed her, and then it hit her Rick's best friend Anthony was a great person to get advice from.  She took her cell phone from her bag and dialed his number when he picked up the phone she greeted him cheerfully " Hey Tony", she had not seen him since the break so she was excited but still upset from the encounter.  He replied "what’s up? I haven't heard from you since June" he said as excited as Lea, “umm well….. I thought we could meet up somewhere, maybe Long Acres Mall by the coffee shop?” she asked questionably “sure see you there in half and hour “he agreed hurriedly and hung up. 

Anthony liked Lea but he didn’t have the guts to tell her, because Rick was his best friend and that would be a wrong thing to do to his best friend.  He got ready and put on his best suit, when he arrived there he saw Lea sitting and waiting.  Lea looked up at him and got up to give him a hug, and he reached in to do the same.
