"How are you not excited?!" Bree asked Alex as they walked down the hallways of Willow Crest High School. It was the last day of school, and Bree was super excited for summer. Although she wasn't looking forward much to college hunting.

Alex shrugged carelessly. "I don't know!" she replied, swinging her arms as she walked. "I'm going to miss this school." it was true. Most of her best memories were either in this school district, or the fantasy world she had learned to love. But a lot of her normal memories, well, they took place right here.

Bree laughed. "I'm not." that was for sure. She'd rather be climbing a beanstalk in The Land of Stories, or even helping Queen Red Riding Hood plan out her nursery for her new baby! Anything but stay in this school for much longer.

Alex rolled her eyes. "I just wish we could go back to The Land of Stories." she sighed. "It's been two years! But unfortunately for us, The Land of Stories have really worked out this whole 'peace' thing." she knew it was a good thing, but she still couldn't get over the fact that they didn't need the whole squad anymore.

Bree giggled. "I want to go back too, but it's good they worked things out. At least we know we're not in mortal danger!"

Alex nodded in agreement. "That's a relief!" she slung her shoulder over Bree's as they walked out of the school's front doors.

That's when she got a brilliant idea. "Hey! You should come to my house! I can get Mindy, Cindy, Lindy, and Wendy to come. Conner will probably be there anyways. What do you think?"

Bree visibly gulped. She and Alex had become very close to The Book Huggers ever since they returned to The Otherworld, but Bree and Conner had gone separate ways. She can't help but think about him every once and awhile, though.

Alex waved a hand in front of Bree's face. "Hello? Bree?" she hated when this happened to her friend. It had been happening ever since senior year had started. She didn't like this feeling, when she didn't know what was going on.

Bree shook her head, snapping out of her daze. "Sorry, sorry. I think it's a great idea." she faked a smile.

Alex beamed. She whipped out her phone from her pocket and began to dial Mindy's phone number. Before her bestie replied, Alex put the phone on speaker.

"Hey Alex!" Mindy said from the phone.

"Hey!" Cindy, Lindy, and Wendy said.

Alex chuckled. She knew they would be together! "I had an idea," she started. "I was wondering if you'd like to come to my house for a party? We'll have pizza, maybe watch a movie..." she did a little dance.

Alex could feel Mindy's smile. "Sure! We'd love to come, right girls?"

"Right!"

Alex smiled. "Okay, I'll see you in 10 at my house?" she was getting truly excited for this party.

"Yep. See you soon!" Mindy hung up the phone.

Alex turned to Bree. "Okay...we're all set. You ready to go?" she didn't wait for Bree's response and hopped on her bright blue bike. She strapped on her helmet and stuffed her phone in her backpack.

Bree followed Alex out of the parking lot. She was semi-excited for the party. She wanted to see The Book Huggers; she hadn't seen them since this morning after the graduation. She just didn't want to see him. It was too hard for her.

After Bree and Conner had stopped talking, Bree tried to move on. But she saw Conner at school every day, and she thought that the feeling would come right back. She was right. But Conner was already speeding through girls like a tornado. He'd be with one girl one day and another girl the next. He'd pass Bree in the hallway and not say hi. It was strange for the boy who used to have a crush on her, instead of the other way around.
