There you are
This time no longer far
I stare at you
Taking in your coos
You stare at me
I wonder what you seeDo you see my heart fall to pieces
Or the purpose of my mind increasing
How about your Father's smiling gleam
Can you sense this man dream new dreams
My arms wrapping around where you lie
A human blanket to absorb your every cryI can't promise you perfection
Tattered fragments of my life for direction
Filtering filthy rivers to give you a steady stream of sweet
Absorbing my family's lashings, to stop the repeat
If I break open with crude emotion
Just know it will be refined into pure devotionHere I am, here I will stay
By your side through the light, dark and the gray
I will never abandon you, my little girl
You are the treasure of my sea, my blue pearl
Even when my ashes have become ashes, and my dust turns to dust
Know I gave you only the whole pieces of me and not the rust
