Chapter 1

I was in the kitchen making dinner when I felt arms wrap around my waist. I turned around to see Sterling smiling happily at me.

"Whatchya makin'?" he asked. "Chicken", I said. "It smells good", he said.

I hummed and continued cooking. He kissed my cheek softly. I smiled and turned back around to wrap my arms around his neck. I kissed his lips softly.

We pulled apart and he smiled at me lovingly. "I lo-" he was cut off by Alpha's voice through the pack link.

What was he going to say to me? I almost thought he was going to say he loved me. My wolf purred at the thought. He had never said that to me before.

"I need everyone into the meeting hall", Alpha's voice boomed through the link. Sterling sighed and grabbed my hand.

I took the pan off the burner so the chicken wouldn't burn. We made our way into the meeting hall.

Sterling and I walked towards the meeting hall. We came up to the large wooden doors and walked in.

I stood next to Sterling's sister Page. She was one year older than Sterling. "I wonder what the meeting is about", she said. I nodded in agreement. "Do you know what it's going to be about Sterling?" Page asked her brother.

"No idea what it's about", Sterling said. Alpha walked into the room and the once loud room went silent.

He walked up on the higher level flooring that almost resembled a stage. "As some of you might know the Moon Festival is coming up", Alpha said his voice loud and crisp.

"We have been chosen to hold the festivities this year. The neighbouring packs will be coming to celebrate with us. I want everyone to be on their best behaviour and don't make this pack a laughing stock."

Everyone seemed excited and began to talk to one another about it. "I understand this is an exciting announcement but I need your attention", Alpha said.

"We will begin preparing for the festival tomorrow. Any questions?" There was silence. "Alright. You are all dismissed", Alpha said.

Everyone exited to hall and began going back to what they were previously doing.

I walked back into the kitchen and finished making the chicken.

--The Day Of The Festival--

I woke up wrapped in Sterling's warm arms. I snuggled closer to him. Life was perfect. I had my mate by my side and I couldn't be happier.

I looked up at the time and I suddenly panicked. It was 10:50 already. I had to start getting ready for the festival.

I finished and was now walking out the front door. I walked outside to see tents set up and people from our pack setting everything up.

I was wearing my beige floral strapless sundress. I decided to dress up a bit. I went back to the room to see Sterling was still in bed sleeping.

I climbed on the bed and began poking him. He groaned and rolled over. I laughed. "You have to get up. Its the day of the festival", I said.

He rolled over to face me. I pecked his lips. "You look beautiful", Sterling said his eyes darkening with lust.

"Thanks, now go get ready", I said pushing him towards the bathroom. He went in and closed the door.
