You were a childhood friend of Prince Noctis. It wasn't until his early teenage years did you two actually end up meeting. It was a rainy day in mid-July. You had just witnessed your parents murder by a Niflheim rogue soldier. Something wasn't right with him, and you could tell by the look on his face. You were in a back room trying to hide; doing just as your parents had instructed. It was almost as if they knew this was going to happen. To this day you are still unable to figure out why. After the soldier was finished with your parents he stormed the rest of the house looking for another victim.

When the soldier went upstairs you quickly made a run for the back door. However, the sound of your running could be heard from upstairs and he quickly charged down and came after you. Because of the rain and winds, the roads were incredibly slippery. It took all the strength you could muster to escape and get as far away from him as you could. So focused on the road ahead of you; you missed the deep whole that somehow managed to pop out of nowhere.  You stepped in it and fell. But not before twisting your ankle. You fell face first onto the pavement and flipped over onto your back. Before you could blink he was standing above you, his gun pointed at you.

Something about him wasn't right though. You could see the way his hand was shaking. You had a horrified look on your face.

"Am I going to die here? Just like my parents did?" You thought to yourself.

He pulled the trigger but instead of hitting your heart, he managed to hit your shoulder. The pain hurt like hell. He was about to fire another shot before what looked like a sword struck him in the chest. The was the last thing you saw before blacking out.

"....Wake up.. Please," Your eyes opened slowly. Your shoulder was throbbing, as was your head and ankle. You looked around the room; It was very fancy and your mind was in a state of confusion. Trying to register where you were just gave you a headache. You looked to your right and finally focused on the figure sitting next to your bed.

"Who are you? And where am I?" You asked him. The boy had a look of both relief and shock on his face. Relieved to see that you were awake, but shocked that you didn't recognize who he was or where you were.

"You are in the royal palace. My name is Noctis,"  he said. This surprised you.

"How did I end up here, and rescued by the Prince of Lucis of all people?" You struggled to sit up. Noctis, seeing you struggle; moved to help you.

"I was out walking around with my friends when I saw you on the ground. Or rather, saw you trip and fall, then being shot at by a rogue soldier."

"He wasn't just a soldier out chasing the first person he saw. He murdered my parents. Then, looking to finish the family off, he came after me."

"I'm so sorry. Do you have any remaining relatives? Or some place else to go?" Noctis asked with a concerned tone.

"I don't. My parents are gone, and my remaining relatives live too far away to even know who we are. Or remember."

"That's horrible,"  Noctis' eyes showed sadness and a bit of remorse. To lose parents at such an age must have been devastating.  Then he got an idea. It wasn't just an idea he came up with out of the blue. No, he had already discussed this with his father. After all, you were asleep for about 3 days. It's as if he knew what your situation was. Even before you told him.

"What if you were to stay here? You'd have your own room of course, and we could always use some extra help with organizing documents."  You were taken aback by his offer.
