CHAPTER4
Walking With Nightmares
"Wow, you have an amazing singing voice," I looked back over to the black and white wolf, or should I say an all white wolf with black ear tips, black looking scars on his front legs and back. His black furry chest went to the tip of his tail. A warm feeling came to my face.
"Thanks...I think," I stuttered, forgetting that he was there when I was singing.
"How did you learn to sing like that?"
"Self thought. I try to match the pitch of the singer," my cheeks started to glow. "Ugh... maybe you should start explaining your past."
"Oh, uhhhh...I don't think I have an interesting past. Just the normal kid, had really bad family issues, ran away, got turned, found the portal to here, and became part of the Forever Wild pack about a year ago. How about you? You seem that you have an interesting past," I looked into his eyes. They were filled with curiosity.
"All I know is I was adopted around 3 or so, I was sorceress of water until that accident with me turning when I was 7, I started adventuring when I was around 5, had to fight my real father as well as kill him, lost my best friend, and came here for the rest of my life. That's it. What do you think?" I glanced over to his face. His mouth was completely open. I gave a light giggle. He had to shake his head for a couple minutes before he could respond.
"That's...how do I put this... you killed your FATHER!?"
"Yeah. I only did because he kept me as his slave, make me still have nightmares, and he kidnaped me, and maybe did something to me when I was knocked out. He was a mad man. I had to put an end to him." I looked back up to see Riley's mouth back open. This time, it was almost down to the floor. 'Wow, if he can open it to the floor I'm going have to give him money for it.'
"WAIT... YOUR DAD TRIED TO KILL YOU!?"
"As much as you need to eat."
"Wait," he took a long pause. "Is he the one who gave you those ugly scars on your back?"
"Yup, that would be the one," after I said those words, furry grew in his light grey eyes.
"Good thing he's already dead, or he would become pack food."
"You're telling me. Anyways, how long I'm I going to have to stay here?"
"To be honest, I don't know," after he finished his sentence, someone came through the big door that entered the room. It didn't help that the only light on was the lamp next to me, and they were in the pitch dark, just watching us.
"Are you done talking yet? Your turn is already over," the voice was rasp. I didn't want Riley to leave yet, he's the only one I know in this unknown place, so far.
"Yeah, I guess," Riley's tail was in between his legs, showing respect to the higher rank of them.
'Wow, a moment go, he was all pirky and happy.' Riley walked out of the room I'm being held in.
"Alright, can you tell me your name, age, and reason why you are here." His voice turned really stern. I wanted to tell him, 'You don't need to know anything about me!' But they were allowing to stay here, and take care of me. So, I really didn't have a choice.
"Name is Jasmine, age 13, and why I'm here is because Riley brought me here. Is those the answers you want," I asked in a lot more of a polite voice than he did.
"I guess. I will have to ask the runt about the situation though for better understanding..."
"Why does everyone call us runts? You know our names, but yet you still call us that negative name."
