Paige's POV:
"Paige, get up!" "I don't wanna!" "You HAVE to! You have that big test today!" "I don't give a-" "Get. Up. Now." I sigh and drag myself out of bed, muttering words even Abby wouldn't say. I step past my mom and go into my bathroom. I shower and brush my teeth, then I come out to get dressed.
I pick an over sized pink sweater from Brooke's closet, my white skinny jeans, and a pair of pink Doc Martens. I quickly brush my hair and pull it back into a ponytail, then I head into the kitchen. Josh is already there, eating a Pop Tart. He drops it when he sees me.
"Uh, Paige? Is something wrong?" "No. Why would you think that?" "Well, you look pretty upset..." "I'm not upset!" Then, Mom comes in with a worried look on her face. "Paige, honey! Why are you upset?" "I'm NOT!" I screech, marching out the door.
I don't bother to grab breakfast. Once I'm outside, I whip out my iPhone and plug in my earbuds. I relax as my favorite song starts to play.
I bust the windows out your car... "Paige!" After I saw you laying next to her... "Paige!" I didn't wanna but I took my turn... "PAIGE!" I'm glad I did it 'cause you had to learn... Kendall runs up to me and yanks out my earbuds.
"I called you three times! Didn't you hear me?!" "Nope!" I lie, plugging my earbuds back in. You see you can't just play with people's feelings, tell them you love them and don't mean it..."Why are you so upset?" "I'm NOT UPSET!" I cry, yanking my earbuds out so fast, it hurts.
Then, I realize I am pretty upset. Not because Brooke died, but because I'm kind of relieved she's gone. I gasp and drop to my knees, weighted down with the realization that I'm a horrible person.
How can I be relieved that my sister is dead?! Kendall lets out a small squeak and steps back. Crap. I just said that out loud." Kendall, don't tell! PLEASE! It's just... everyone always loved Brooke and-" Kendall shakes her head and helps me up. "I won't tell." "Thanks."
We walk the rest of the way to school in silence. The school day drags by uneventfully. Tons of people come over to say, "I'm sorry for your loss," and all that other stuff. When the bell rings, I run out of school, eager to get away from it all.
I stop at home to pick up my dance bag. I open the box that holds my jazz shoes and notice a folded up piece of paper inside. Its a letter. I open it. The first line says, To Paige, From Brooke.

My Time To Shine(A Paige Hyland Fanfic)
FanfictionI loved my older sister Brooke, so I was devastated when she killed herself. But I was also a little relieved. I've always been in her shadow, but now that she's gone...maybe, just MAYBE it'll be my time to shine.
