Lovers in Paradise

First Impressions

Pietro looked towards the ocean as he sat on the sand and felt the breeze. Before he loves sunrise and always looks forward to a brand new day....but after what Michelle did sunsets became his favorite. It has been years since he took over their resort in Batangas. His Dad appointed him to be the manager of what then on the losing end of the business. Damian, the previous manager, was corrupt and a lot of money was lost. When Piet took over he changed the whole staff made some renovations and with the help of his friends had several beach parties and events that made Paradise Cove the place to be in again. The resort has been his hidden paradise....the place where he can clear his thoughts and commune with nature. He breathe in deeply and closed his eyes just listening closely to the waves and birds chirping. When he slowly opened his eyes, he saw a 3 women by the beach with one looking sad watching her friends head for the water.
Erika: Mica!!! Come on. The water will wash away your sadness. It has been 2 years na kaya.
Mica: You go ahead. I'll just sit here. (Lay down her towel and sit on it)
Cristy: Hay naku. Bahala ka na nga. Remember you promise to have fun when you said yes to this trip though partly business trip din ito. Hayaan mo na si Marlon....bwisit na lalaki yun. Womanizer talaga. Enjoy life sis. You are young, beautiful, intelligent and rich! Kaya no need to sulk and be bitter about life.
Mica (smiles dryly): Sus don't make me bola. I'm ok....just need time to get back to my old self. Maligo na nga kayo.
Erika: Pero girls...speaking of yummy boys look on your far left someone really good looking watching us. In fairness ang ganda na abs at ang gwapo!
Mica and Cristy looked on where Erika is looking and saw Piet getting up topless wearing board shorts....looking really hot.
Cristy: Hmmmm.....may potential (smiles and nudges Mica)
Mica: Kayo talaga! Go ahead and swim Cristy.
She looked towards the direction of Piet and for a moment their eyes met. Even from a distance....she felt suddenly warm and her heart skipped a beat. She shook her head....not now Michaela.

Maggie: Erika! Nice to see you! (Made beso) This is Carlo my fiancé.
Erika: Hi Maggie! Naku naman you look radiant! Iba na talaga pag bride to be (smiles) Nice to meet you Carlo. (Carlo smiles and shakes her hand)
Maggie: Hon, Erika and I know each other way back elementary days but we moved to different schools kasi.
Erika: Oo and lumipat kasi kami ng subdivision. Buti na lang alam namin ang resort na to. My friends will be here in a while and mabuti na rin dahil parang vacation na rin namin.
Maggie (smiles): I'm so glad to see you again and thankful na namention ni Anne na may business kayo on events organizing.
Carlo: We plan to have a beach wedding here. Our friend owns this place kasi.
Erika: Really?! Wow....ang ganda ng resort na to. Wait nandito na sila.....Carlo, Maggie meet my friends Cristy and Mica.
Cristy & Mica: Hi.
Maggie: Nice to meet you both. So let's get down to business?
Mica: Sure. (As they sat down she pulled out her notebook to get some notes) Before we get some details it is one of our habit to get a glimpse of the couple's love story. As much as possible, we try to make the event more personal and close to your hearts (smiles)
Maggie: Aw...Now I know why Anne recommended you. I really like to work with people who are romantics (smiles)
Carlo (rolls his eyes and chuckles): Why do girls always love romantic stuff? But I love you Hon so be it (smiles and pulls her closer and kisses her hair)
Erika: Aw! So sweet....so Carlo ikaw na magkwento.
Cristy: Our events organizing kasi is more of a hobby for us. When we started parang magkabarkada lang who wants to see people  celebrate life....be it weddings, birthdays, baptism or anniversary.
Maggie: Kaya nga you were highly recommended when I asked around. Well for a start medyo boring ang love story namin (giggles) We knew each other since college. We go to the same school tapos we didn't hit off at first meeting. I hated him....parang his too goody....nerdy at times. Ako naman medyo mabarkada and parties...but may good side din naman.
Carlo: At first I don't like her also kasi nga party girl but I came to know her more when we became members of the school paper.
Maggie: Kahit party girl ako I love writing.  That is our common ground. We both love to write....from stories to poems to opinion pages.
Mica: Ang cute naman ng story ninyo. So when did it became official?
Carlo: I courted her for a year. She said yes to me going 3rd year college and we have been together for almost 5 years now....and I couldn't imagine anyone else to spend the rest of my life with (smiles)
Maggie: Di ba? Who wouldn't want to marry a guy like him? (Smiles and kisses his cheek as she squeezes his hand)
Cristy: OMG! Naiinggit ako! Bakit ba wala dito si Jed?!
Erika: Sus as if ganyan din ka romantic ang boyfriend mo! (Chuckles and Cristy sticks her tongue at her)
Carlo: By the way, I also invited my best man to be here. He is the owner of the resort and the manager. Kasi since we want the wedding to be held here I want you also to coordinate with him. I guess he'll be here in a while. Si Piet kasi always late yun. Oh here he is! Piet!!
The 3 of them looked back to where Carlo is looking and saw Piet coming in the restaurant wearing a white shirt, shorts and rubber shoes.
Cristy (whispers to Mica): Ahm...I think this is destiny.
Carlo: Bro! You're late again. Make sure na pag sa wedding na be on time. Maupo ka na bro and meet everyone.
Maggie: Hay naku Piet you never changed through the years. Meet Erika, Cristy and Mica....THE Pietro Pascini (smirks)
Piet: Hi Girls (looked at Mica) Sorry I have some business to attend to Maggie. So did I miss anything?
Carlo: Nothing much. Kinikwento  lang namin how we started. Sabi ni Mica kasi mas personal daw ang approach nila sa clients nila.
Piet: You two are too cheesy for the books. Besides your love story has no really spice in it. You don't even disagree with each other much.
Maggie: Sinasabi mo lang yan because you haven't met you're soulmate. I believe that you have someone made by God just for you.
Erika: I guess you don't really believe in true love Piet?
Carlo: let's just say my friend just had a share of a heartbreak and never believed in love since then.
Cristy: Ahem....Hindi pala nag-iisa ang friend namin. (Looked at Mica)
Mica: Hey! Hindi naman sa ganun. I had my heart broken but I still believe in love....I just take time to heal that's all. Anyway, we are going out of topic. We are talking about Maggie and Carlo here.
Piet looked at her and made his eyes wander. This woman is really beautiful...the most expressive eyes he has seen, slender body, sexy....damn those legs as her dress hikes up an inch and he loves it when she bit her lip when stressing something. I wonder how her lips taste like....he thought.
Mica: Is there some dirt on my face? (suddenly asked him with one eyebrow raised)
Piet: Ah...no. I just thought that beautiful girls never had their heart broken....maybe you are an exception (she blushed)
Carlo shot him a warning look and he just grinned. They continued with the conversation about Maggie and Carlo's love story and Piet would occasionally glance at Mica.
