We were dancing on the same beat
In between those flickering lights
But your gaze was enough to pull me
Under your spell I found myself bright
Your smile talked everything to me
The words were not the need of the time
I was wearing black with a dust of sheen
You were wearing blue and the stars aligned
Themselves and took us to places where we didn't belong
You held my hand and created a night
I had never imagined but you got me close
To the starlight I had a dream of in my eyes
And you whispered in my ear a secret
I couldn't remember the song we were dancing on
Your words were all I heard and everything was red
Like the color of love and I was no more alone
I wished we could stay forever like that
Dancing on our own beat making for the good times
But soon I realized you were just a dream I had
When I saw the morning come with that beautiful sunshine.
