i should have checked the weather today, i had no idea it would rain

standing in the lobby of our school building for hours didn't seem like an ideal choice

so i decided to put my hoodie over my head and take my chances out there

sprinting towards the direction of my home i realized my efforts were wasted

i lived far, i might as well just walk
well or so i thought

till i came across this convenience store
but what caught my attention wasnt the store

but who was inside it, you.
the smile on your face when you recognized me melted my cold heart

but your smile soon faded when you examined my outfit, and it's soaking remnants

i didnt expect you to come outside the store and place your umbrella over the two of us

our faces were merely inches apart,
i did not mind at all

but you left me speechless when you said
"here take it and go home"

then you walked away
leaving your umbrella in my hands
