佳茜 sighs and asks "How did this even happen?! I told you not to go to those parties." I bowed my head and apologized "对不起佳茜." (I'm sorry Jiaqian) She rolled her eyes ignoring me and asking another question "Did you know 迈克 was concered about you?" I rolled my eyes and ignored her. She smirked and said "Ok then be that way. I will tell him you want to go on a date. I said "不!" (No) She rolled her eyes and said "是的." (Yes) before rushing off into her bedroom and locking the door. I whined and said "Please don't tell him anything." She said "If you finish translating your book before friday I won't sat anything." I sighed and mumbled "为什么佳茜?" (Why Jiaqian) She didn't hear me so I just walked to my room and started to work. Starts talking to myself "So this would be translated to... My home? My family... No that's not it.." Skips past that part and starts using context clues. Hmm? What time is it... In america it would be 12:09 AM. But here it's so late at night. Sighs and my phone begins to ring. "Hello... Oh wait it's a skype.. My mom oh no." Answers "Hello mom~" she squints her eyes a bit at the camera. "Stephanie? What happened to you? You don't look the same." I laughed a bit nervously "Haha~ Probably just the camera or something. My room is pretty dark." She nods suspiciously and says "Okay. How has china been treating you? Are you living comfortably?" I smiled and said "It's so beautiful here mom like you wouldn't believe it~ Yes Jiaqian made it really comfortable to live here. The first few months were rough. You know since I get home sick so early." She frowns a bit and says "Well how is work?" I sigh even more and she looks at me sad. "Well I have to translate a novel by friday. Or Jiquian is gonna tell this cute boy I know... Well she's gonna tell him I like him and try to hook us up." My mom looked at me happily and said "Ok sweetie you have fun with that! I have to go goodnight. Also make sure you are sleeping right okay?" I nod and say "再回妈妈~" (See you later mom~) Then she hangs up and I sigh continuing my work. "Hmm the last sentence is '我的爱.' Huh?" ('My love") I smile and rest my head on the desk falling asleep. "斯蒂芬妮~ 斯蒂芬妮~ 哦." Jiaqian smiled and pulled the translations away. I sat up sleeply and rubbed my eyes. "早上好快乐佳茜." (Good Morning Jiaqian) She smiled and said "很好." (Very good) I smiled back and jumped up into her arms hugging her. She sighed "The neighbor wanted to talk to you. He seemed very... Suspicious. I think he wants to take you on a date." I pouted and said "Whatever! I have to turn this in to work and get a new assignment." I grabbed my scarf and pulled it on walking to the front door and slipping my shoes on. Then the neighbor smiled and he asked "你要做什么?" (You plan to do what?) I sighed and said "工作." (Work) He nods and starts to follow "Can't we just hang out...?" I sigh and ask "你什么名字?" (What is your name?) He smiled and bowed a bit "Wang Xiumin." I made an 'o' with my mouth and said "Well do you want to come with me to get a new assignment?" He smiled and said "Yea sure." We headed to the small building and my boss handed me another novel to translate. He looked over at Xiumin and asked "他是你的男朋友吗?" (Is he your boyfriend?) I quickly shook my head and said "不" (no) He smiled and nodded as we left. Xiumin looked over at me and said "Why would you say that?" I shrugged my shoulders and said "I wasn't aware that we were dating." He blushed and looked at the ground. I looked over at him confused and he said "我爱你." (I love you.) I blushed bright red and bowed quickly rushing away into my apartment. Jiaqian looked over at me confused and asked "你怎么样?" (Are you ok?/How are you?) I responded "不好. Xiumin said he loves me." She looked at me and her mouth fell open. I tilted my head and she quickly closed her mouth and replaced ot with a sad defeated smile. I looked at her and she said "I used to like him but don't go out with him! He's bad news trust me." She looled at me with pleading eyes and I had to place my trust in her. So from now on I will ignore Xiumin!
