The Nightmare realm is a shadow's best, and worst friend, it explains how the shadows are hiding, it's like another world that only certain people can enter and see. The ground is pitch black, the sky is a dark purplish color. In the realm there are trees that are shadows, it is completely flat.
Sometimes you are able to meet other shadows that have entered the Nightmare realm, but it's very unlikely. Only the strongest of the shadows can enter the realm and not go completely mad.
Staying in the Nightmare realm for a long period of time is not recommended. Because the longer you stay in the realm the more you are tortured, memories of the stuff that haunts you the most enters your thoughts, sleeping inside the realm is worse, you relive your worst moments.
The darkest thing about the Nightmare realm is its power, if a shadow is strong enough, the shadow can enter the Nightmare realm and know the deepest darkest fear of anyone, and scare them to death literally, or you can give people Nightmares that cause someone to become insane. I've never truly used the darkest powers of the element, but some ay that the more darker and powerful powers that you use will make you go mad, some of these could be rumors, but when they caught a insane shadow elemental, he kept on repeating words about, "Nightmare realm" and "Worst Fears" and something about how he killed an army of 60 people with their worst fears.
I was lucky, I didn't have to relive my worst memory, but I was worried that Vesta left because of me. I decided to leave the Nightmare realm, which was quite easy, all I had to do was think about where I was when I disappeared and then I go back, some say that you can travel through the realm to another place in the real world, but I haven't tried it, and I don't want to.
When I got back to the real world it was morning, or at least very early morning, around 3:00 at least. I looked around to see if maybe Vesta was still here, but I didn't see anyone. I looked up to see if maybe she was up in a tree but she wasn't. I decided to look for clues, I figured since she was also a earth elemental that she would do something to the ground. I looked down to see if she left a message. I looked for at least 8 minutes when I decided to give up. Maybe she didn't care about me anymore, so she just decided to leave. I sat down under a tree and played with my dagger, I made a fake Vesta illusion and made her play around the tree. "I'm sorry Vesta." I said to the fake Vesta. If she were the real Vesta she would probably say "Why are you sorry?" I sighed and got back up, the fake image disappeared. I decided to walk back to Fallax to turn myself in, It was probably for the best.
I came across a bunch of pebbles that were lined up, and were spelling something. I couldn't really make it out so I climbed up on the tree and looked down. It said, "Meet me at the place we agreed on", I thought long and hard trying to remember where we said we would go. Mykcra. I kicked the pebbles to make sure no one else saw them. Mykcra wasn't so far from Fallax so Vesta was probably already there.
By the time I got to Mykcra it was past lunch time. I found a place to eat then sat down to think where Vesta would be. Mykcra was the biggest kingdom in the land of Hecate, they've conquered a lot of land, Mykcra has a big island behind the city, where citizens become the army and where they learn about the elementals, it's also where the Qaesitors do their studying on the elementals.
After I was done with lunch, I decided to go to the market to see if she would be there.
I walked around the market seeing if I could spot Vesta. I had to be more careful though, they sorta know what I look like, Charles probably helped them draw a picture of me, I didn't know if the news had reached here.
I had to go through alley trough alley to dodge the guards. I still couldn't find Vesta. Maybe I couldn't find her from down here. I climbed up to the top of the market plaza. I looked down for long brunette hair. I almost jumped down when I thought I saw her, but it was just someone like her. I kept on looking. I was about to jump to another building when I saw a hooded figure a few houses away from me, they were staring at me. "Vesta?" I asked myself. We kept eye contact for at least 6 seconds, then the figure ran towards the castle. I decided to follow the figure. I didn't think it was Vesta, she wouldn't have just stared at me, or ran away. I caught up which clearly meant it wasn't Vesta.
I was running right besides the figure. "Who are you?" I asked the hooded person. They grabbed for their knife and threw it at me, I caught it in mid air before it could hit me. I threw it back at their foot. They dodged it when they jumped to the next house, I almost fell, I was going to continue to follow when I spotted Vesta.
"Vesta!" I realized. I stopped and jumped down. I ran towards Vesta. "Vesta!" I shouted drawing attention to me. Vesta turned around. We joined each other in a hug. We held the hug for a few seconds when we realized what we were doing. Vesta quickly let go. "S...sorry! I didn't mean too" Vest expressed. "It's fine," I replied. "Look, Pho...I mean Nyx, someone is after you!" Vesta explained. "Well duh!" I said a little too loud, "Um...let's go somewhere private?" I explained. She agreed. There was an old lady that was smiling, "Aww! You guys are a cute couple!" She told us. Vesta and I blushed. "Um...we're not girlfriend and boyfriend, we're just partners that got separated." I explained. The old lady quickly lost her smile, "You haven't made your move?" She asked. I was about to tell her that she didn't like me. I turned towards Vesta, she was still blushing, but she looked a little annoyed, she grabbed my hand and pulled me with me tripping over my feet.
We were in her inn room. "What was that?" I asked. "Nothing!" She said angrily sending a clear message. She took her hair out of a ponytail, she let her hair fall down, it fell down in such a graceful manner. I wished we were couples.
"So what were you talking about earlier? About someone after me?"I reminded her. "Yesterday I heard two guards boasting on how Mykcra was going to be the kingdom that caught you and put an end to you. They talked about a guy who was a specialist in hunting and capturing shadow elementals, they said he finds every target." Vesta explained. "So...I've escaped many people. There was this one huntress who hunted me down for a month, I think she lost track of me though." I explained. "Well I don't like the sound of this guy." Vesta said. "Eh, whatever. So what now?" I asked. "Well you can get your own room, and we will stay here for a little while, maybe do a few quick assassinations, then leave to, I don't know." She explained. "Well you see I don't have enough money to rent a room." I said. Vesta face palmed. I walked to the window to see what was going on when I noticed the same hooded figure standing on top of the house right in front of me. "Um...Vesta?" I said concerned. Vesta looked at me. "Yesss!" She said angrily. "I think I found the guy that is hunting me down?" I said. Vesta got up quickly and looked to where I was looking. We stared at him for 7 seconds when all of a sudden the door was kicked down. A bunch of Mykcra soldiers came inside, they had shields half their size, they surrounded us with their spears pointed at us. "Do something!" I whispered loudly to Vesta. "Jump out the window on three," She replied. "3...2...1!"
I grabbed my dagger and smashed the window, I jumped out to a roll, luckily we weren't so high so we would suffer any damage. I watched as Vesta jumped down. I grabbed Vesta's hand and told her to run but ahead of us was the hooded figure. They stood in our way. "Um...hello! Buddy could ya move a little!" I said shooing them away. "Your terror has ended Phoenyx!" The figure said in a deep, freaky voice. "Your voice is more terrifying!" I said. I kicked for his legs, but he just jumped. I let go of Vesta's hand. "Let's go the other way!" I told her. We ran to the other side but a bunch of soldiers blocked it. "Screw this!" What I was about to do, Kids don't ever try this at home. I turned towards Vesta. "I'm going to shadow travel somewhere safe, we will be long ways from here, I will most likely pass out after I do it!" I explained to Vesta quickly. "What?" She wondered. I thought of the one safe place that I stayed at for years when I found out I was a shadow, where I felt safe, hopefully no one found it. We disappeared into thin air. We appeared at the place that I thought of. Before I passed out I said one last thing, "This is the No Problem Haven!"
