- Kellin's P.O.V -
"Congratulations, Kellin." my left hand shook the man's hand, whilst my right took a hold of my diploma. I'm finally finished. I've completed a total of twelve years of absolute fuckery, cue slow clapping here. I posed for the camera, my parents, and Vic had tears brimming in their eyes. Matty was grinning like an idiot. This was unbelievable. I made my way off of the makeshift stage they'd set up for the day, joining all of the other seniors in waiting for people to receive their diplomas.
Once everyone had received what they came for, the principal stepped up to the podium. Giving a speech, that I really wasn't paying attention to. Well, not until he cleared his throat and I noticed everyone slowly reaching up for their caps, "Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you our class of 2014!" Everyone rose to their feet, throwing their caps up in the air, words were being shouted, so were screams. It was like something you'd see in the movies really.
I quickly made my way over to my parents, since Vic was more than likely with his parents congratulating Mike- that actually gave me an idea. Our parents have never actually met, so why not? My mom and dad were rambling about how proud they were and all, I just tried to not gush at their compliments, though my cheeks were feeling a bit warm. I laughed a little, "Do you guys wanna meet Vic's parents?" I cut them off from their baby stories, they could be so humiliating sometimes.
They nodded enthusiastically, "Well we haven't exactly done so yet, so I don't see why not." my mom pursed her lips, smiling sweetly. I nodded, guiding them around the swarm of teenagers- or, now adults, I don't know, until we reached who I was looking for.
"Hey Mike, congrats!" I patted him on the back, he grinned in response. "You too, little dude." he chuckled.
I turned my attention to his parents, both of them grinning, much like Matty was earlier, wherever he was. "Hello Vivian, Victor." we were on first name basis- no big deal. "Uh," I remembered my parents presence behind me, "Yeah these are my parents, Mary and Jeuse." I introduced them rather awkwardly. (sorry if those aren't their names, i trusted google)
They instantly went into parental conversation mode- which wasn't something I wanted to stick around for. I turned back to Mike and Vic, grinning like a goofball. Everyone's been grinning like goofballs today, it's a goofball day! "Congrats, love." Vic smiled, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he did so. I found myself just staring at him and how far we'd gone, thinking of how far we'd go. He's honestly been the best thing that's ever happened to me- and that's saying something.
"Thanks." I shrugged, smiling sheepishly, "What now?" I worded my earlier words.
They both shrugged, "Now you get to write your own chapter." Vic shrugged, "I'm still working on mine."
Probably the most cliche thing he's ever said, but I guess it made sense in a way- I mean, now we are expected to make our own decisions. We're considered adults. That's pretty fucking awesome. I opened my mouth to speak, but a squeal ended up escaping when someone wrapped their arms around my stomach and lifted me up off the ground, "What?!" I tried looking back at who ever it was, but it was an impossible task.
"Congrats, dork!" fucking Jack. Don't get me wrong, he's a great friend, but he'll always scare the shit out of me when I least expect it. What an asshole. I groaned, kicking him where it hurts, "What the hell, man?!" he seethed.
I shrugged, wiping my stupid ugly gown with the palm of my hands, "You don't wanna mess with this." I stated, feeling extra confident.
Soon enough all the other guys had joined in on our madness, until we decided to leave. Vic and I decided to take off somewhere different, just to get some time alone. Discuss things? And what better place to do that then at the park?!
"I don't think you understand how proud I am right now." Vic beamed, letting his arm drape around my neck.
I let out a girlish giggle- guess who the girl is in this relationship. "Aw shucks," I gushed, "What happens now?" I asked, yet again.
He shrugged, "Whatever you want to happen." he replied vaguely, we were both just starring at the little kids play- as creepy as it sounds. Just watching them enjoy their happiness.
I let that sink in for quite some time, what did I want to happen? I mean, I was already pretty much living as if I was out of high school, so... "Hey Vic?" I had to ask him eventually.
"Hm?" his breathing was slow and steady, I was just simply inhaling his scent, he smelled like vanilla and cologne, what a weird combination.
"Do you ever think we'd move in together?" no turning back now, dumb fuck.
Vic stayed quiet for a while, which made me question if what I asked was wrong. "More than likely. I mean, we practically already live together, but I'd do anything to be able to wake up next to you everyday in a place we can call our home." he added emphasis on the 'our'.
I felt a smile tugging on my lips, "So would I." I mumbled, without a second thought. "What if we break up?" way to ruin the moment, Kellin.
"If? That won't happen. I mean, unless you initiate it. Though I'm not sure what I'd do if you weren't mine." The atmosphere suddenly turned sad, "Probably mope around a lot in hopes that you'll change your mind." he rubbed my shoulders.
I nodded, "What if you initiate it?"
"Nope." I raised an eyebrow, "That'll never happen, wanna know why not?" I nodded, once again. "Because I am in love with you." he stated simply, "I love you so much that just the thought of being away from you- even if we're still together scares me." he sighed, "I am so, so, so, so, so, in love with you and nothing will ever change that Kellin Quinn." he kissed the top of my head.
I felt myself blushing like crazy, "What's there to love about me?" I felt like I was just fishing for compliments, but all the words spilling out of his mouth just sounded so beautiful. They were honest and sincere, it was impossible not to.
He thought for a while, "I love the way you know me. I love your facial expressions. I love the way my name sounds coming out of your mouth. I love the way you want to tell me things. I love your smile. I love your laugh. I love that we both share the same shitty sense of humor. I love our conversations. I love that you care, even when it's not the kind of care I want. I love how you smell, and how it lingers on my clothes. I love your hugs, and how they're warm and safe. I love the way your eyes light up when you laugh. I love how you could be such a dork sometimes. I love how our hands fit like two pieces of a puzzle. I love that you get concerned over the littlest things. I love how you always manage to make me do that stupid sigh. I love how you make me burst into fits of laughter at everything you say, because you really are funny. I love how you trust me. I love how we're best friends. I love that I can trust you. I love that you're close by. I love that I know you. I love you."
Fuck the butterflies. My stomach was now holding a fucking zoo. I wiped my eyes, "Did you really mean all of that?" I asked, in a hushed tone.
He nodded, "Of course I do. I love all of that and more." he traced patterns on my arm. I had to refrain myself from kissing him right now. He was just so amazing, every single thing about him.
All of this was so sappy, but I couldn't care less. I couldn't word any of my feelings in fear of fucking up. It's pretty funny how around him my whole confident demeanor just drops. "I'd never initiate a break up with you either." I mumbled after a few seconds.
And that was a promise.
