"Hm...you two are humans, right? Golly, you guys must be so confused!"
Chara continued to look at the flower with suspicious eyes as they floated closer to Pax and Frisk. The elder human squeezed Frisk's hand gently in reassurance before responding.
"Well...a talking flower is a bit surprising. But it's nice to meet you...Flowey..."
Flowey smiled in return, seemingly unoffended by the brunet's comment. He tilted his head at the pair.
"Hm...someone should teach you how things work down here." He giggled. "Oh well, I guess little ol' me will have to do! Ready? Here we go!"
Bing!
Pax huffed when the air left his lung abruptly. Something was ripped from his chest and it floated out into the open. Frisk also gasped in surprise when something left her chest. Color drained out from their bodies, causing them to be grey, white and black. The surrounding area was a dark abyss instead of the inside of the mountain.
In front of the two humans, boxes floated before them. They read: FIGHT, ACT, ITEM, and MERCY. Pax blinked in confusion at the glowing, orange boxes; they reminded him of video games or something of the sort.
Pax brought his attention back to what was torn from his body. The elder sibling blinked at the floating...heart in front of him; it glowed a bright orange. It reminded him of the times when he would go gazing at sunsets. He then noticed the strange cracks lining the 3D heart; the small fissures glowed a duller orange--like the embers after a large fire.
He blinked and brought his gaze to Frisk's...heart. Frisk's heart had no cracks in it, and it was red. Red like the times when the moon was new. Red like the stop lights. Red like roses when they seemed to glow under the light of dawn.
Red...like Hayato's flames.
Tsuna tore his gaze away from the warm red of Frisk's heart and turned his bright, orange eyes to Flowey. The brunet had not moved away from his younger sibling for a single second.
"...What...are these?" Pax questioned cautiously.
Flowey merely giggled, tilting his head playfully.
"Those hearts?" The flower gestured at the floating shapes. "Why they are your Souls! The very culmination of your being."
Pax blinked and looked back at his...Soul.
'Huh...something's definitely wrong with me.' He looked back to Flowey. "So why have you brought our Souls out, Flowey?"
Flowey widened his smile.
"Now, now! I'm getting to that." His head bobbed slightly as he moved a leaf to point at one of the Souls. "You see, your Soul starts off weak, but it can grow strong if you gain a lot of LV. And what does LV stand for? Why, LOVE, of course!"
Chara drew in a sharp breath at that, and Pax was able to catch the sickened look on their face. Pax quickly darted his eyes back to Flowey as the sunflower continued.
"You want some LOVE, don't you?" Pax was about to decline the...strange offer, but Flowey cut in. "Don't worry! I'll share some with you!"
Flowey winked before tiny, white, oval-shaped objects popped into the air around him. Pax tensed and moved Frisk a bit more behind himself. Flowey seemed to notice and his smile became strained for a moment before he continued his instructions.
"Down here, LOVE is spread through...little white..." He brought the oval-shaped objects farther from himself, "....'friendliness pellets'...". Flowey giggled. "Now...move around! Get as many as you can with your Soul!"
