"Wonderful," Aisha grumbled, pulling out her English book and slamming it upon the table. "Just wonderful."

I sat beside her quietly, twirling a pen between my fingers. Though I gave off the impression of great calm, I was seething.

How dare she act like this is my fault, I thought bitterly. I'm not the one who signed up to tutor her.

Aisha tore a piece of lined paper out of her notebook, not bothering to pick off the bits that hungs of the side like a loose tooth, begging to be tugged out. I cringed and turned my attention from the notebook paper to my classmate.

"Where," I asked. "Do you want to start?"
