You and Jeremy sat in your (_f/c_) (type of fast car), waiting for Black*Star and Tsubaki. They were 10 minutes late. You growled lowly as you tapped your foot rapidly on the floor. You weren't known for being late. In fact, you hated it. Every second you sat in this car, waiting, another human soul gets eaten. That was what you thought.
"They're late." You said through gritted teeth, tapping your finger on your steering wheel. You tried to keep your patients by thinking of something else, but it wasn't helping. Your mind always went back to still sitting in the car, waiting.
"Only by 10 minutes. I'm sure they have a good reason for being late. Just try and calm down." Jeremy said. He was always trying to calm you down. Not that he never succeeds, he always does, actually. He was the only person who could. It was some talent he had. You swear it was some kind of witch craft.
"Damn them!," You yelled, finally at your boiling point. "What the hell is taking them so long?!" You slammed your fist on the dashboard and growled loudly. Your partner flinched, knowing fully well that you hated being late. The blond leaned forward and placed a shaky hand on your shoulder.
"M-Maybe they're on their way. I know you hate being late, but try to relax and wait a little longer. Give them...five more minutes, then we can leave with or without them. Okay?" He pleaded slightly. You stayed silent for a moment, then put your hand over his and took a deep breath. You then looked back at the boy, who was smiling slightly at you.
"Five minutes. If they're not here by then, then we're leaving without them. No arguement. Understand?" You said to your partner. He smiled and nodded one, then took his hand off your shoulder and leaned back into his seat. You smiled slightly at him. He was the only person who could make your anger disappear. It was nice having him around.
After five minutes, you still didn't see them. You were happy about it because you didn't have to go on a mission with Black*Star. You put your key in and started it up. But, as fate would have it, you saw Black*Star and Tsubaki running to your car. You groaned and cursed to yourself unlocking the doors. Sooooooo close! Damn it!! You thought.
"Jeremy, come up to the front. I don't want him sitting next to me." You ordered. He nodded and got out of the car, waving the two over. Moments later, the blond peace lover got into the cart sitting next to you. Black*Star and Tsubaki got in the back, Black*Star behind you.
"You're late." You said, coldly as everyone secured their seat belts. Black*Star scoffed at you and flared his nostrils.
"A star like me is never late! I show up on my own time." He boasted, crossing his arms. You turned your head slightly and glared at the cocky boy. He froze, knowing that NOW was the time to shut up.
"You. Are. Late. That's that." You're voice was low and threatening. You flipped your bangs out of your face and turned your head to face the road. With the gear shift in "Drive", you hit the gas pedal and drove off. Death City became smaller and smaller in your rear view mirror as you drove from your home.
"Now, you to are going to tell me why you took so fucking long!" You ordered, almost yelling. Tsubaki flinched, while Black*Star turned his head away, looking out the window. You sighed, feeling back for scaring Tsubaki.
"She's terribly sorry! She has manners and means well, but she doesn't like being late." Jeremy explained, saving your ass once again when you yelled at someone. You looked at him and nodded once, which was your way of saying "thank you". He smiled at you, knowing what that fully meant.
"It's okay. And we're sorry for being late. We got held back by Stein and forgot what your car looked like." Tsubaki answered shyly. You shook your head in disappointment.
