Alexandre... Wake up, love.
Don't, call me... that.
I need you to wake up for me then, Alexandre.
He could feel worry flash through the young human's mind.
He thinks that I am still feeding on him.
While Alexandre had been delicious and will definitely be accounting for many of his future meals, he had better self control than to drain him in one go.
I am not biting you any longer. Your neck is already healed.
The human captain seemed to be fighting with himself internally on whether to do as he was told now, but that's why he liked him so much. The rest of his crew, except for the young boy Desden had claimed, just surrendered without much of a fight. Some even begged to be allowed to live in exchange for sexual favors! Such a thing would never dictate whether they kept a human or not. They could take anything sexual they liked from them with ease, so that definitely wasn't a bartering tool.
His attention refocused as gorgeous soft blue eyes hesitantly blinked open. He always found the human species, in general, interesting. If one focused even a little bit you could read their emotions, and most times, thoughts. Just like a pretty little book. Right now his cute new pet was giving him a clear window into how he felt.
The first emotion was very familiar with the humans they captured. Fear.
The second was hesitation. Also fairly common because they were afraid of doing something wrong or incorrectly around something much more powerful than themselves.
The third emotion swimming in those oceanic eyes though, that one had him smiling. Curiosity. It was such a small inkling, but there was no mistaking what he could see there, plain as day.
Retaining his smile, he showed the human his teeth, then slowly allowed his fangs to extend to half of their length. Alexandre's body instantly went through the steps of fear. His eyes widened and dilated, then his muscles tensed and his heart-rate doubled. He was only sitting on the edge of the bed staring down at him, but the reaction was ingrained and expected from humans. What he was actually trying to draw out, however, would likely take several more minutes.
Conveniently, I am a very patient creature. Especially when I have a new pet to play with.
When Alexandre finally began moving, the blood captain kept himself completely still. His human was still chained and completely unarmed, so there was no logical threat to his well-being. Not that he wouldn't have minded a good fight, but right now he simply wished to have his own curiosity sated.
He watched silently as Alexandre shifted until he was sitting up. He waited a few moments to see if he would be reprimanded for moving, but when he realized that no such thing was going to occur, he very slowly scooted closer. It was clear that he was staring right at his fangs.
As far as blood pirates went, and especially concerning his crew, they tended to keep their secrets to themselves or kill those who have figured them out. So very few humans knew about their fangs, strength, and speed. Telepathy was also a skill that he, himself, tended to keep between himself and a select few of his crewmen. Most young vampires did not have that ability.
It would seem that his mind had wandered a bit, because when he blinked and refocused his eyes, he noticed Alexandre's hand just beginning to lift towards his mouth. Over his many years on the planet, he had become accustomed to breathing just like humans did, though it wasn't technically necessary all the time. He did require oxygen, but could easily hold his breath for twenty to thirty minutes without any issues arising. Now, as he inhaled calmly, he could smell the strong scent of the ocean, peppermint, and male musk.
