"I want to take you to get more clothes, Levi. I want you to live with me." Eren grinned, toothy as ever. "I mean, come on, it's been about a year, and I want you as a birthday present."

Levi snorted and turned to look at Eren, "What do you mean, 'me as a present'?"

"I mean, I want you not to leave."

"Eren, I will never leave. I don't exactly have a reason to, do I?"

"N-no, I don't think so."

"Okay then we're good." Levi continued making the two grilled cheeses.

"I still need to buy you more clothes." Eren huffed.

"Shouldn't it be the other way around today?" Levi glanced at the brunette. "It's your birthday. Let me take you out for a treat."

Eren huffed and gave in. "Yeah, I guess you're right." His eyes followed Levi's movements through the kitchen.

"The sandwiches are done." Levi handed Eren his. "By the way, I'm glad you came home for lunch."

Eren smiled and kissed Levi on the forehead. "No problem, I always love seeing you."

"I find it annoying they didn't let you off on your birthday."

"Well," Eren spoke with his mouth full then swallowed. "They need people more and more on Saturdays because something about 'Sunday paper people are slow.' I don't know."

"Doesn't Armin, or whatever his name is, work Sundays?"

"Yeah, but he's an editor."

"Oh, right." Levi finished his lunch and threw his paper plate away. Eren handed him his plate and he threw his away aswell.

"Well, I should get back to Sina." Eren rubbed the nape of his neck. Levi walked up to Eren, got on the end of his toes, and kissed Eren's cheek.

"Love you, brat."

"I---I love you too, shortie." Levi glared at Eren.

"Tch, you little shit."

"You just said you love me, so you love little shits." Levi rolled his eyes and walked away from the door.

"Go to work, you dumbass."

"Fine, I guess I'm unwanted by my boyfriend here," Eren huffed, turning his nose up. Levi snorted again.

"Oh, I'm so sorry for you inconvenience, how may I ever so make it up to you?" His voice was highly sarcastic.

"Well, you know, a kiss makes everything better." Eren snickered.

"That only would work if I was you're mother. I promise you, I didn't birth you."

Eren shrugged, "Close enough."

"So fucking you is close to birthing you?" Levi raised an eyebrow.

"You know what I meant," Eren sighed then laughed lightly. "Come here and kiss me, I have to go."

"Tch," Levi walked over to Eren and took his hand. "Here." He kissed the top of Eren's hand then walked away, smirking.

"What the hell, Levi...?" Eren whined. "You know what, you should drop me off at my work so you have to come pick me up."

Levi shrugged and grabbed his keys, "Alright, let's go."

Eren grinned as he followed Levi to his small, shiny car. They got inside and Levi felt his pockets. "Shit, I forgot my wallet. Give me your keys."

Eren handed Levi his house keys and Levi scrambled to the door, unlocking it. Eren sighed and sat in silence.

Leaning up to the mirror, Eren began to fix his hair. A smile spread across his face when he thought more about his birthday and Levi.

But that soon disappeared.

A hand gripped Eren's hair and yanked him backwards, making him yelp. "Hush..." a low voice whispered in his ear, sending chills down his spine. Before he could even think about screaming, a cloth was shoved in his mouth--gagging him. Eren's vision went black at times then came back at others.

Black.

He caught a glimpse of a small car.

Black.

It was dark, and he couldn't really move. Eren noticed the small streak of light shining through an opening.

Black.

Rough hands dragged him out of the trunk and threw him onto the floor. Eren curled up into a ball as tears streamed down from his eyes. Levi.. Please help me...

Black.

Levi looked around, trying to figure out where Eren had gone. "Did the brat ditch me?"

Levi shook his head, Eren wouldn't do that. His eyes followed the lines in the car. That wasn't there before... It almost looked like someone clawed the inside of his car. Levi sighed and looked down, "No..."

A feeling he has never truly felt before flooded him. He felt his body tense then relax then tense again at whatever noise made it's way into his ears. His stomach was screaming--turning upside down, left, and right.

Levi looked around one more time, noticing streak marks from a car--that weren't there before. Tears welled up in Levi's eyes for the first time. "Eren..." he mumbled aloud, then dropped to his knees. His hands yanked his own hair as he kept himself from screaming bloody murder. "Eren...."

There was some blood next to the car streaks. More tears welled up in his eyes, blurring his vision. "No.. E-Eren.."

His voice was shaky and rough. Tears streamed down his cheeks. Levi darted to the house door, unlocking it with Eren's key. He stepped inside--closing the door behind him--then fell to the floor. "Eren....!" Levi shouted at himself.

"Why was I so dumb...!"

"Why didn't I save you....?!"

"I SHOULD HAVE FUCKING SAVED YOU..!!"

This was a first.

Levi Ackerman, the emotionless, painless man, was sobbing in the doorway of somebody else's house.

Hurt.
