A/N- All art that I post above I did it, ;n; it took me so long to do him, about 2 weeks to figure out the design, anyway enjoy!
The wind howled in the night. The trees leaves reflecting the light of the moon. The stars twinkling like the sun's light on water. A faint breeze sounded as a young cat skidded past, almost a blur. Dew dappled the long grass making the fur along the male-cat's side's go damp. A rustle sounded as he padded on with quick skillful steps. The cat was a midnight blue with a gold ring dangling from its long right ear. A scar crossed his muzzle and another ran down his left elbow. His thin midnight pelt blending in with the night's shadows. A few black stripes littered his pelt, camouflaging him. The cat moved at a slow paced run over the bumps and curves of the forest floor. Desperate to make it to the meeting on time. He skidded to a halt as he rounded around a tree. A wall of ferns blocked the cat's path. The cat took a shaky breath and hesitantly stepped through. The cat gazed ahead with familiarity in his eyes as he saw a dark pond.
He hunched down and crawled forward, keeping his eyes to the ground in respect. He made it to the edge of the pond. His whiskers twitched in anticipation. He glanced up at the sky one last time and slowly touched a paw to the water's surface, desperately fighting the instinct to shake the droplets off. He kept his gaze on the pond like the old ceremony says but it was hard as a sudden tiredness washed over him. The ritual was to touch a paw or pad to this ponds surface and wait till it glowed and to keep eye contact to its surface or the bond would shatter and break. If that happened it was another moon's time until it could happen again. This meeting was important to this night colored cat, so important that he ditched the hunt. The hunt was what his family did every other full moon, which was a very long time.
'Strange how the light on the pond or the light on my pelt isn't silver. It was tonight wasn't it?' He thought, the urge to look up and see wasn't as big as his ambition to fulfill the meeting so he kept his burning gaze on the pond. His blue ringed tail twitched in impatience as the pools edges started to glow a tile blue, the same color as his eyes. A faint figure formed over the pond, almost as big as him, and padded towards him. Another figure appeared and another and another. Some of them were different unique looking cats and creatures but he was only finding one tonight. He searched with desperate eyes then a warm calmness flooded over him as another cat met his gaze. Her fur a daisy pink, her eyes and the fur on her paws a light green. Two flowers petals were stuck in her neck fur in the front, red as rose. A shocked expression crept on his face when he realized the she cat kept his gift after all this time.
"Rose . . . " he breathed in her grassy scent as she padded across the water to him and flicked his muzzle with her tail.
"I thought I told you that my name was Brier." she whispered. He paid no attention to what she said, only her scent. He had missed her so much but not as much as another and Rose knew. She stepped back among the other pelts that sat on the ponds surface, starlight surrounding their paws. The cat shuddered as he felt cold creep back into his paws when she retreated.
"Rose . . .?" he broke off as another cat stepped forth from the others. The cat was a male with dark gray fur that seemed to glow silver from the ponds shining surface. He had a scar that was just at the corner of his eye and another on his right shoulder. White patterns dappled his pelt in different designs, almost like symbols. The cat stalked past the other cats and rushed over to him. An inch away from his nose. His breath became shallow in excitement and disbelief as he stared at his brother.
"Boop!" the silver cat said and touched his nose with his own then jerked back. The night-colored cat flinched back in surprise then the fur along his neck rose in aggravation.
"I thought we finished that, Dew!" he said but he couldn't help but mrrow of pleasure as his twin aged brother brushed his flank against his own.
