Jarrah felt her whiskers twitch under her mask in anticipation. The strange blue cat had ran off thankfully. She tensed her muscles but kept her claws sheathed as a dark figure stalked out of the bushes. Quiet as a shadow it padded forward and stood in front of her. Jarrah felt her ears burn.

"I see you've made a friend." He purred, he circled around her, his pelt brushing her's. Jarrah tried not to flinch but she couldn't help but grimace.

"What's wrong? Aren't you glad to see me?" The black tom asked in a gruff voice. Jarrah looked away.

"Now wasn't really a good time." She meowed. The tom flicked his ears in mock hurt. He stepped forward and brushed his muzzle against her mask.

"You know I had some plans that I wanted to tell you but if your all caught up in that piece of dirt I could go share them with him." He meowed in her ear. Jarrah jerked her head sharply so she was looking at him dead in the face. Her teal eye a blaze. The tom almost flicked his tail in surprise, almost.

"Ah, you are into that moss-ball! Hm, but we had such plans? Are you just gonna give up on them?" He asked, sadness crept into his gaze. Jarrah felt a rush of guilt wash over her.

"Never." She leaned over and brushed her pelt against his, breathing in his earthy scent. The black tom let out a low purr but moved away from her. He stood up his tail lashed back and forth.

"We have to hurry if this is going to work, I'll meet you at the border to the Dawn Forest at sunset. Do you think you can make it there?" He asked quietly. Jarrah flicked her ears and puffed out her chest mockingly.

"I think I can handle myself!" Was once a cat told me, I believe." The black tom snorted and scampered off into the trees. The sky darkened even more overhead and the bare trees barley kept out the rain as it started to pour down. Jarrah flicked the rain drops from her ears, thankful that her mask kept the rain from stinging her eyes. She lowered her head and sniffed to where the blue cat had ran off. Yes, it would be easy to find her way out of the Shadow Woods.
