Great question. If I was a Muggle I would probably own a bookstore since I have such a tight connection with books. Of course I'd need to have other side jobs to keep up a good paycheck, but at least I'll be doing something I love.
I also think about the profession of teaching as I am known to be the bossy type. Kids can be a bit rambunctious, but I think I could take it. If not, then maybe a college professor would be a better choice.
My parents were both dentists, so I might have learned to grasp the subject more if I had spent time in a muggle school and more with my parents. Then again, with some of the stories I've heard about dentists and some of the patients they get, I think maybe I'm better off as a teacher.
Another thing I would do, probably on the side, I would teach the piano. It is by far my favorite instrument and I love playing it, but I couldn't never play professionally, so teaching it would be nice too.
I can just see it now, Hermione's Piano Lessons...
