Ashley's p.o.v.
(November 2011, Germany)
My twin brother Ash and I are gonna investigate our father's death. It's currently 7 p.m. "Ashley, are you ready?" Ash asked. I nodded. We were both nervous. Exploring through your dead father's house isin't something fun to do. "Mom we're going to the, um, library" Ash told our mother. It was a lie. She would never let us go there. "Be back by 9:30" Mom said. She was very strict. She's even more strict now than ever. Our father would convince her to let us do more things. Since they divorced we never saw our father anymore. Not to say that we saw him much while they were together. Ash and I walked to our father's house. It was a long walk, but it'd be worth it. "This is the place, right?" I asked. "Yeah. Let's go" Ash said.We walked up to the fence. "This is really high. Maybe I could make the gate open" Ash said. "Sure" I said rolling my eyes knowing that there's a much simpler explination. I throw my backpack over the fence. "C'mon Ash, let's jump!" I said giddily. "You don't possibly think i'm gonna-" Ash was interrupted by me taking his backpack and throwing it over the fence. "Are you serious?!" Ash whisper yelled. I giggled and jumped over the fence. "If you want it back you're gonna have to jump!" I said holding his backpack. Ash groaned. "Why are you so immature?" Ash spat. "Why are you so boring?" I spat back. Eventually, Ash jumped over the fence. "Took you long enough" I said tossing him his backpack. "Don't throw that! I have important things in it!" Ash said. "Like what, your medical books? Ash, we just turned 17, what's the rush to get into college?" I asked. "Well I don't know, a career? A future, maybe?" Ash asked sarcastically. "You are such a stick in the mud" I said starting to walk towards the door. "Well at least I don't spend my time fantasizing about space" Ash spat. We were at the door. I turn the knob. "Of course it's locked. Let me try" Ash said. He pulled something out of his backpack. "You have a skeleton key?!" I yelled. Ash shrugged and unlocked the door. It was a mess. Papers were scattered everywhere. "How did he live like this?" Ash asked. "What are these papers even for?" I asked. I picked up one of the scattered documents. It was full of medical gibberish until I noticed one wore. Schizophrenia. "Hey Ash, take a look at this" I said. I passed him the document. He had a confused yet shocked look on his face. "PV lab Germany GmbH? What was he doing with laboratory documents? He was trying to cure schizophrenia?!" Ash read all at once. "Wait what?! Take it easy! Explain this medical nonsense" I half yelled. "He was trying to cure schizophrenia along with another doctor. Dr. Iplier" Ash explained. It sounded more like a question than a statement. "That's weird. Why would he be looking for cures? Didin't he stop...wait. He still was a doctor. That's the only explanation" I said. "That explains his abscence. And all these documents and files" Ash said.
We searched around the house more finding documents and peculiar plans. "Ashley come here" Ash called. I made my way towards him. He was in what seemed to be an office. "What is that?" I asked. Ash was holding a giant blueprint. "It looks like a blueprint for some sort of mechanism" Ash said. "Do you think they got to building it?" I asked. "Maybe. The documents said PV lab Germany GmbH, right? That means that they must've been working there" Ash said. "Probably. But didin't the place bur-" I was interrupted by me falling. I landed on a desk chair. "Wait. Ashley we should check the computer! He has to have had information on there" Ash said. He shoved me out of the chair and turned it on. "Hmm. Maybe they made some elaborate contraption that leads to the password!" I said enthusiastically. Ash quickly typed in 'password'. "He wasn't the most clever at passwords" Ash said. He started looking through files full of more medical nonsense. "So what does it say?" I asked. "More medical things about schizophrenia. It says they did experiment in that laboratory. If we are going to find anything, it should be there" Ash explained. "Good. But I think we should review some videos. If he had any, that is" I suggested. We were now watching videos. It was like a log. They were all perfectly fine until one. It was the final one recorded on the day of the final expirement. It was glitchy and corrupted. "What?" Ash asked confused. "Oh, uh, it's gonna be 10! You know how strict mom is!" I said. "But what about the glitc-" Ash was interrupted by me pulling him out of the room. We hid some papers into our backpacks and ran home.
