COMMENT YOUR STORY BELOWWattpad, I find, is one of the hardest apps to get noticed on. Even if your story contains not one grammar mistake, or even if it's the best story on wattpad, unless you have followers, it's not going to get noticed. No one will see it no matter how f%^ing fabulous it is. So now, I'm going to tell you how to get people to read that fabulous story.
1. (VERY IMPORTANT) Be kind. This is how my story has gotten attention, along with step number 2. Private Message people about their stories, give them feedback, follow and vote for them, and then at the end mention your story. They'll probably feel pretty happy that you liked their story, and in return they'll go ahead and check out yours.
2. (VERY IMPORTANT) Advertise, advertise, advertise. On books like this where you may comment below, simply comment your story, and then scroll through the more recent advertisements as you want to make sure you're commenting to active people. Then, say something like, "Hey! I'll definitely give your story a look. Would you mind checking out my book (insert book name)?" Literally exactly what I did, and after 5 days of being on wattpad, six story parts, about 400 views, 124 votes, and 40 followers, here I am. It's literally so simple. Keep calm, be kind, and advertise. 😂
3. (IMPORTANT) Grammar. It really does matter, because let's face it, no professional storytellers write like this- sUp m8 lol h8 txting rHinos MAN- Wasn't that beautiful. Yea.
4. Proofread your story. You may have left out a few details, assumed your readers knew the storyline, or made some grammar mistakes. You want your readers to actually be able to understand what's happening in your story, because if you leave out details they'll be utterly confused and will NOT want to keep reading.
5. Cover. Your cover is typically what will drag people in, so it better be cool asf. Use _ For lines next to words, and ~ for a design. If any of you like, I'd be happy to give you tips on cover making. Make sure the picture you use is high quality, or a wallpaper, as I find these work best, and I absolutely hate poorly put together covers with crappy photos.
6. Title. Your title should be cool, something that will pull the reader in, such as "Broken," or, "Troublemaker." Typically it should be between 1-3 words as you don't want a sentence as your title. Also, make sure your title matches your cover, because otherwise it can be confusing.
7. Authors note. At the end of every chapter, make sure to write a thank you paragraph. You don't want your readers to believe your unthankful for their views and votes. Also, putting "Please vote for this, I really do appreciate it," will help you earn some votes. Never, EVER put something ungrateful, or desperate looking, such as, "Vote for this, or else. Please, please, please. :,(" Its sad, and believe it or not, will trigger people because that's what we do these days. Get triggered. 😂😂8. I'm using 8. To advertise my own story, The Wolf Society. You can find it on my profile, and it's pretty cool if I do say so myself. 😂😎 Seriously though, I'm really thankful to any of you who do decide to give it a look.
Thank you so much for reading! I really hope this was helpful to any of you newbies. Vote for this, and comment your stories down below as I'll be sure to check them out! Thanks again!
