Chapter 18

Previously

When I made it to the top of the stairs someone grabbed my hand. He held a very sad expression but I don't know why. He had been happy all afternoon, so why was he so upset.

Now

I was about to ask him what was wrong but he started to talk before I had a chance to. "(Y/n) I want to know if I was wrong to do what I did that night. Are you mad at me for kissing you?." Ciel's tone was sad. "No, I am not mad at you, it's just a little awkward for me. I never had someone do that to me before that's all." I then gave Ciel a big hug and told him goodnight, leaving him in the hallway. When I got in my room I went to lay down for the night. 'I hope they don't leave too soon. It's so much fun having them here even though they cause so much trouble.' after that thought, I drifted off to sleep.

Dream

All I could see was darkness and feel sadness. Suddenly there was loud cry and the sounds of people screaming 'no'. This started to frighten me and I could feel tears forming in the corners of my eyes. All I wanted to do was run but there was no place to run to. Then a tall dark figure appeared before me accompanied by a small boy with dark blue hair. "Ciel! Sebastian!! Please, I'm scared what's going on?" I pleaded. I couldn't seem to get their attention so I walked over to them but when I did I noticed that they were staring off into nothing, "Guys are you okay, please say something I'm really scared." Then Ciel spoke up and when he did it released all of the tears I was holding back.

"Why did I fall for you when I am not real. Why did you make an effort to be kind when we won't be able to stay. We were never real so what was the point in becoming friends?" All I was capable of was crying, I didn't want them to think that way. They were always real to me no matter what. When they showed up in my apartment my heart sank but I was also filled with joy.

The two of them then vanished and then I was drawn to a different source of light which brought me to see the others, Alois and Claude. They had their backs facing me and was doing the same as Sebastian and Ciel. I wipe my tears from my face and stand to walk over to them. They may not have been the nicest people I knew but I still thought of them as friends. I went up to them and went around to see their faces. As I thought they also had that distant look in their eyes that the others had.

"Guys, please tell me what's-" I was cut off by Alois, "Why did you fail? You should have had us back home by now! Why even bother with us at all you know very well we aren't real, just send us home and leave it at that!" I jumped back a little bit and everything went dark once again. This time I was repeating 'This is just a dream, just a very bad dream'

When I woke up I noticed that I had been screaming. I looked around my room and noticed that all the guys were in my room. Claude on the other hand just stood by the door while Sebastian, Ciel, Alois, the undertaker, and Grell were in my room around my bed. Ciel was the closest to me which I had figured he was trying to wake me up. I tossed my legs over the edge of the bed and touched my face, which was covered in sweat.

"(Y/n) are you alright? You were screaming really loud." Ciel asks. "Yeah I'm fine, sorry I woke you guys up." I told them. I got up off the bed and walked over to my bathroom and rinsed my face off. All of the guys looked at me and I just told them I wasn't going back to sleep for a few minutes. "Miss- (y/n) would you like for me to fix you something to calm you down?" Sebastian asked me with worry in his tone. I nodded and We all went downstairs and to the kitchen. Sebastian went to make a pot of Earl Gray tea since I bought several boxes.

I sat in the kitchen with everyone while we were waiting for Sebastian to finish the tea. "So do you want to tell us what your nightmare was about?" Ciel said with a sympathetic tone. That was when I thought back to the things they said in my dream. Things along the line of 'It's pointless to care since we're not real' or 'There's no point, we aren't real and were just causing trouble' these thoughts pierced my mind and tears Began to fall once again. Ciel noticed and embraced me in a tight hug. I cried for a few minutes then the tears finally faded.

Sebastian had brought us our tea. while we sat at the table and drank our tea I told them about the nightmare. After I finished explaining how they were in my dream all of their eyes went wide. I looked away from my hands that were in my lap and noticed how they all reacted to my story. "Look it was only a stupid nightmare so don't worry about it ok, anyways Sebastian what time is it anyway?" He then told me that it was about three in the morning. "Well, we all need to get some sleep ok. I'll be fine I never have two nightmares in a row so you won't have to worry and thank you, Sebastian, for the tea it helped me calm down some." "Not a problem, if you need anything don't hesitate to ask." I gave him a thank you and gave everyone a good night and was off to bed.

Once I get to my room and lay down, I almost hesitate since I did lie to them about my nightmare. I have been having them frequently ever since they tried to leave but tonight must have been one that I reacted with my physical form. I lay in bed which seems like hours but only mere minutes and I'm off to sleep.

~time skip~

Once the sun shines through my window I bury my face in my pillow to block out any light. After laying in bed for a few minutes Sebastian knocks on my bedroom door to wake me up. "(Y/n) you must wake up it's nearly noon." "KILLJOY!" I shout so he could hear me. I hear a faint chuckle while I was getting out of bed. I just roll my eyes and then get ready for what was left for the day.

When I finish getting ready I head downstairs I notice how everyone was wearing their normal clothes they had when they first arrived. "W-what's going on guys?" When Ciel steps up to say something I was completely shocked. I just burst into tears and I collapsed onto the floor while they all stood in the same spot with hurt and sorrowful expressions. At that moment I realized the dream must have been a hint of what was about to happen.
