Chapter 6(Birthday)

Mariyah's POV~

I woke up and all i seen was a bright ass light. Then everything started to show clearly. There was an IV attached to my arm and I was in a hospital bed. My head was no longer pounding and I was feeling a lot better.

A doctor walked into the room with a concerned look on his face."Good morning Ms. Brown. I apologize about the incident that occurred yesterday. We have an officer on the case right now."

Before he continued I stopped him. "Wait wait. What incident? What happened yesterday?" The doctor looked confused. "Oh so you don't remember. Well we found some Rohypnol in your system. Rohypnol impairs cognitive and psycho motor functions affecting reaction time and driving skill. The use of this drug in combination with alcohol is a particular concern as both central nervous system depressants potentiate each other's toxicity. But we have already treated your symptoms and you should be up and ready to leave in about an hour." The doctor reassured me.

Wtf is rophynol? Or whatever the hell you call it. And how did it get in my system. I really didn't care about it anyways. As long as I was gonna be up and out of here and that I was okay.

"Is there anything you need Ms. Brown? Or will you be okay for now?" The doctor asked me.

"Um... yeah I'm good. But is anyone here for me?" I questioned hoping that at least one person I knew was here. "Of course ma'am." The doctor said quickly heading out of the door.

The first person to walk in was mom holding Makaylah's hand. Dammit it's her birthday and I didn't get her anything.

"HI MARI!" Makaylah jumped on the bed next to me and hugged my arm. "Hey sis. Hey mama." My mom looked at me with a worried face.

"You okay baby girl?" She held my hand then looked up at the IV. "Yes ma, I should be leaving in about an hour." I reassured her. "I met the handsome Prince that brought you here." She cooed at me.

I playfully rolled my eyes. "Don't think there's anything going on in between us. I only work for him."

She gave me a pouty face. "I didn't say anything. But things can be possible."

After she said that I started to wonder why Jacob brought me here. Even if he did loose me he could just hire another maid or girl to take my place.

"Mari are you gonna be with me today." Makaylah asked me with a big smile on her face.

"Of course and happy birthday" I said sitting up. "When I get out of here Ima come straight to the house and take you out."

She looked so happy and excited.I can't wait till I really start helping mama out so we won't have to struggle as much.

After they left Jay and Ray Ray visited along with Jacob.

"BESTFRAN IS OKAY!! Thank Lord!" She looked up at the ceiling with tears in her eyes then ran to me and kissed all over my face.

"Yes I'm okay damn! Don't be kissing on my face like that. You been kissing all over his lips." I said pointing at Ray.

He put his hands on his heart like he was hurt. I sat up and looked at him. "I don't know where yo mouth been nigga. Is there a problem?" I crossed my over my chest.

"Nah I'm good. I don't need to break no more bones." He said rubbing his arm once again.

"Jeez y'all beat him that bad?" Jacob chuckled. That was the first time he said anything since we was in the limo yesterday. I stayed silent, then got a slight flash back of the kiss that happened two days ago.

"Yeah and we can beat yo ass too if you ever do anything to my best fran." Jayleen joked to break the silence. I chuckled at her being over protective once again, Jacob laughed then turned over to me.

"Mari I apologize for what happened to you yesterday." He said sitting on the bed next to me. Jay and Ray Ray walked out of the room leaving the two of us in here alone. "Its ok, it wasn't your fault anyways. I was too busy being careless."

"No, it is my fault. If I would have went to you earlier whoever it was wouldn't have been able to drop that drug into your drink."

"It's alright Jacob. I'm still perfectly fine" I grabbed my phone off of the side table beside the bed. It was 12:13pm. "Dammit Makaylah." I mumbled.

Jacob looked at me. Then a doctor walked in the door telling me it was okay to leave. After they was done taking all the stuff they had on me off I got dressed and was ready to go.

Jacob stood outside the door waiting for me. I need to hurry up and get to the house so I can pick up Makaylah. "Dammit I don't have my car." I complained walking through the door.

"You needa go somewhere?" Jacob asked closing the door behind us. "I just needa pick up my sister and take her out for her birthday since my mom doesn't have enough money to do it." I was in the middle of putting my hair in a messy bun. Then I got a cup of water from one of the little machines.

"How about I do it?" I choked on the water when he said that. He chuckled. "What?"

"How about I take you and your sister out for her birthday? I can buy her anything she wants." He insisted. "Nah I think I can do it myself. I don't like taking people's money."

He scoffed. "Pfft, you won't be taking. I'm offering. Plus it's not like I don't have loads of money sitting here for nothing." He smirked and looked at me.

I was unsure about this. But I mean, I really wan't her to have the best birthday ever so might as well. "Fine, but this is only for my sister. Money should only be spent on her."

"Sure." He replied and we walked the rest of the way to the car.

We drove to my moms place to go and pick up Makaylah.

Jacob waited in the kitchen with my mom while I went in the room to get Kay. "You ready sis?" I asked peaking through the door.

"Yes we can go now." She ran to me grabbing my hand and dragging me through the door rushing me.

"Alright slow down." I could fall at any second by now. She suddenly stopped. Making me fall. I looked at the kitchen where she was looking and saw Jacob nodding his head talking to my mom.

I was curious about what they were talking about but i really didn't think it was that important so I ignored it and stood up. I looked back at Kay and her eyes widened.

"THE PWINCE IS HERE!?!?" She jumped up and down. Jacob looked our way and he smiled at her.

When I tell you she ran so fast to go hug him. I've never seen her run that fast in my life. I walked towards them as Jacob watched her play with his hair.

"Well, I'll see y'all later." Mama said as I kissed her cheek and made my way out the door. She winked at Jacob and he nodded as we left. I was really getting curious now.

We headed to the mall first to get Kay some new clothes and shoes. Then she went and got her hair done.
