"Inmate 42, wake up. We've arrived," You stirred but did not get up. Maybe if you stayed still, the guard would you sleep longer.
"Hey. I said wake your lazy ass up. I'll be damned if we're fucking late." The guard shook you vigorously, leaving you no choice but to comply.
"You know Stover," You rolled over and smirked up at the veteran security guard. "That bad attitude is the reason your wife left you." He lifted you out of the boat you both arrived in and practically dragged you to the gates of the rather large building a few feet in front of you. He angrily punched a code into a wall panel hidden behind a brick. It immediately blinked green and the massive doors creaked open.
"Hmm.... seems so simple for a prison like this," you said, thinking out loud.
"Simple to get in, like hell to get out. It's.... befitting of you," he scoffed.
"Oh please, I'll be out in a week," you retorted, pulling away from Stover's grip.
"Can't you just serve your fucking sentence. It's not even that long, anyways. If you're so desperate to be free, why not just wait it out?" You spun around on your heel and glared at Stover. The malice in your eyes made him shut up.
"I don't know if you're aware of this,Stover, but I'm imprisoned. I'm supposed to be outside, getting super fucked up and making poor life choices like others people my age, aren't I?," You held up your handcuffed hands to his face, "Yet here I am, locked up like some animal. If it were you, wouldn't you do the same?" The guard didn't answer. Instead, he grabbed your forearm and continued to drag you to your destination. Neither of you spoke the rest of the way there.

"State your name and business." The woman in front of you spoke in a clear and firm voice. Going by appearance alone, her physique didn't match the authority she held. Sure, her expression was scary, but the hearts on the back of her gloves took the edge off her glare. Could this woman really be the Warden?
"I'm Officer Russell Stover of Makoda Maximum Security Prison. I was sent to escort our inmate 42 here. She will transferred here to carry out the rest of her sentence. I believe you were informed of this ahead of time." The warden's calm demeanor cracked for a millisecond.
"Uhh, right. New inmate......" She began to shuffle documents around on her desk. She didn't know you were supposed to arrive. If memory serves, the entrance to the prison wasn't too far from here. 'Go down the hall, make a left, climb the stairs, and take a right. There weren't any guards so this plan might work.' you thought. You slowly started to back up to the large door right behind you. Stover shot you a look, but you stuck your tongue out at him and he continued his conversation with the warden. Ever so slowly, you continued to back up until the round handle of the door touched your back. Your hands were cuffed in the front so you used your elbows to mess with the handle. It fortunately worked and the door made no noise as it was pushed open. You looked up to see the Warden with her stare fixated on you. As she stood from her chair, a rush of adrenaline hit you. You spun around and started a sprint down the hall. You heard shouts from behind you, but chose to ignore them as you tried to recall the path out again. The sound of footsteps started to echo from behind as you raced up the two flights of stairs and hung a left, practically already feeling freedom in your grasp. However, instead of the exit, you found you were face to face with an inky black wall. Before you could do anything else, your head was shoved down to the floor and stars filled your vision. Your doubts of her ability were completely cast aside as the Warden lifted up your head.
