Let's list off the obvious.

Today the sky is a bright blue space of emptiness. The grass on Mrs. Kyo yard was dry and dead. The ever so busy ice cream truck parked a couple of houses down the road was serving, you guessed it, ice creams. It was already after four and the kids in the neighborhood were riding their bikes and playing tag.

But the thing that tops the cake of obvious to me was my neighbour's daughter.

As usual, the girl would be out to supervise her little sister who was playing tag with her mid schooler friends. Sitting at the curb wearing a white crop top and high waisted jeans was Camila Cabello, licking her melting vanilla sundae in the heat of today's weather.

And where was I in this picture? Well, as creepy as it sounds, I was by my bedroom's window peering out of it to watch the street full of kids and her. I don't often do this. If anything, it's a first. I just so happened to pull the shades up and saw Camila buying her sundae.

I was bored. I had nothing else to do. Which is the main reason I spent my afternoon sitting on the ledge of my window with an earphone plugged into my right ear playing my favorite singer's newest album in low volume.

The way we got acquainted to each other was such a clichè. Although I had to give it to her, I did not expect it at all.

I moved into this neighborhood about three months ago with a truck full of new furniture and a car full of clothes and personal items. It was a hot summer day and the air conditioning in my car didn't seem to make any difference in the heat.

I parked my car infront off my new house that will be my home. The movers and I went straight into work and hauled the sofa and refrigerator in their places first. Main reason we moved the refrigerator first was to plug it up and store our beverages to cool as we move the other stuff.

Being a woman who often goes exercising, lifting all this heavy things weren't hard but it definitely got me to sweat, especially in this heat. When the heat became unbearable, I shed off my shirt which earned a couple of whistles from the guys in a joking matter. By the time we managed to organise half of the furniture in their respective places, I called out a break for the guys and I to rest and drink.

We were conversing in a group at the front yard of the house. Talking about the next ice hockey game that this town was having when my eyes drifted to my neighbor's house on the left.

There was a girl peeking out of her window watching us. It seemed to me that she had been watching for awhile now since she was sitting comfortably near the window. She had her milk chocolate colored hair down in waves. Her face was bare without makeup. She wore a red flannel shirt that wasn't buttoned up completely, exposing her collarbone and chest.

Soon enough our eyes meet in a glance for a moment before she got up and walked away from the window.

Once everyone finished their drinks, we picked up from where we stopped. The last couple of things left we my bedroom furniture. We moved the bedframe, the bed's side table, the lamps and finally the bed into their places.

We were done with the task in hand. It was around five in the evening. The guys and I walked out of the house for a goodbye session. They were seven muscular guys shirtless and sweaty, so the goodbye consisted with us saying "We should all hang out soon!" cheerfully. Before they all left with the now empty truck, I tipped all of them generously eventhough they denied the action at first in reason that we are all friends and it'd be weird to accept.

When they left it felt like the last drop of energy left me as well. I grabbed my shirt on top of my car and wiped off most of my sweat with it. When I finally felt going inside I saw the girl from the window walking towards me with a glass full of lemonade with cubes of ice and a straw. It was the pink kind rather than the yellow.
